It's the heart of Andalusia and the birthplace of flamenco. Yep, the Spanish city of Seville has a lot going for it, and Go Ahead staffer Beth was thrilled to experience it for herself. Here, she shares her favorite photos and what she loved most about visiting Seville on tour in Spain.
1. A picturesque plaza
The Plaza de España will take your breath away with its beauty. This lavish building, known for its brightly colored tilework, is surrounded by a canal and fountains.
The food throughout Seville is to die for and it'll leave you wishing you could stop by a tapas bar after your return home.
3. Parks, markets & more to explore
There are so many ways to use free time in a walkable city like Seville. A wander around the peaceful Jardin de las Delicias will take you away from the urban hustle and bustle of city life. Or, a stroll around Mercado de Triana is a great way to see what local fruits, veggies, and other specialties are for sale.
4. Royal roots
This one's for the history buffs out there. The tour through the Royal Alcázar will give you knowledge about the history of the gorgeous ancient (UNESCO-protected) building.
5. Rooftop sunsets
Taking in the sunset from the top of the Metropol Parasol is an absolute must-do. The sunset colors are impressive, but watching the city lights come on and dozens of cathedrals light up reveals a another side of Seville's beauty.
