We were blown away by the beautiful images that traveler April T. shared with us after her tour to Italy & Greece. This was her third Go Ahead trip—she had previously visited Venice, Florence & Rome as well as London, Edinburgh & Dublin—but her favorite so far. “I didn’t expect to love Greece as much as I did,” she told us with some hesitation, “Dare I say it might have topped Italy?!”

Capri is somehow simultaneously comfortable and breathtaking. You can stroll through quaint streets filled with shops and cafes, stumbling upon awe-inspiring views at every turn… and a boat ride around the island put us up close and personal with beautiful grottos and famous sea stacks in the middle of the deep turquoise sea!
Our Tour Director invited the group to get lost in Rome with him one evening. While wandering off the beaten path, we came upon a man closing up shop for the day. It was a beautiful reminder of the everyday lives going on behind the walls of this historic city.
The restoration structure around the Parthenon hardly dampened the grandeur of the site. Nothing prepares you for the feeling of standing on top of the ancient world and looking out over Athens at sunset!
My favorite stop on the tour had to be small seaport town of Nafplio with it’s artisan shops and incredibly friendly people. We had our first gyros, sampled[loukoumades covered in chocolate, sipped on warm rakomelo, talked with local craftsmen and spent a leisurely day wandering treelined cobblestone streets. Perfect.
Our stay in Santorini was the ultimate end to this incredible journey. Days of hanging out on black sand beaches and trips into town for shopping, dining and some of the most beautiful views on earth. I’m planning my trip back as soon as possible!
