The Wonders of Ancient Israel
My most favorite place to visit
11/04/17 by 1st-time traveler Andrea
This tour was busy but with so much to see and do, it had to be. I fell in love with Israel through this tour. I did not get to do the tour extension to Jordan but many of my tour mates did and they say if you have the time...do it!!!

Travel tips for Israel trips

What are the best things to do on a trip to Israel?

There are so many interesting things to do on our guided tours to Israel. You could float in the mineral-rich Dead Sea or take a cooking class with Israelis in Tel Aviv on our Israel, Jordan & Egypt tour. You could also visit a kibbutz on our Israel Adventure Tour, and see how members work together on agricultural, technological, and industrial projects.

We offer package trips to Israel that explore Jewish heritage, Christian heritage, the wonders of Ancient Israel, and more. You’re bound to find an Israel tour package to fit any interest.

When is the best time to visit Israel?

Every season has its benefits, so no matter when you visit Israel, there is something to do. Spring and fall bring milder weather, which is great for adventure trips to Israel. If you’re looking to spend some time at the beach, summer is a great time to see Israel. And winter is perfect if you want to avoid the crowds. It can snow up north, so just pack a winter coat.

What are the top attractions to visit in Israel?

There are so many unforgettable things you can experience on our Israel tours. These are a few of our picks for the best places to visit in Israel:

  • The Western Wall. Also known as the Wailing Wall, it’s the only remaining portion of the retaining wall that surrounded the Temple Mount. That’s where the First and Second Temples of Jerusalem were destroyed in 587-586 B.C. and 70 A.D., respectively. It’s a place filled with life, faith, and emotion—you won’t want to miss this site on our Israel tours.
  • Bethlehem. On our Christian Heritage Israel tour, you can enter the Church of the Nativity. There, you’ll see a large silver star embedded in the ground to mark the exact spot where Christian text says Jesus was born.
  • Jerusalem’s Old City. The neighborhood has four quarters: The Jewish Quarter, The Armenian Quarter, The Christian Quarter, and The Muslim Quarter. Each has incredible food, shopping, and people to meet. All of our Israel travel packages stop here.

What are the benefits of taking a guided tour to Israel?

For such a small state, Israel has a lot to offer. The biggest benefit of choosing one of our guided Israel tours is that we do all the planning for you. You’ll visit all the best spots without ever having to worry about where you’re going and how to get there. Each trip is led by an expert guide who will teach you all about the history and culture—and you might even make new friends in your group.

What should I know before I take a trip to Israel?

Israel is a religious place, so most establishments are fairly modest. You’ll want to bring some modest clothing to wear in main areas like Jerusalem, as well as in temples or churches. Women should pack a shawl or sweater to cover their heads and shoulders as well as a skirt or dress that hits below their knees. Men should bring pants and a shirt that covers their shoulders, too. Tank tops are a no-go at most local destinations, except for beaches and downtown Tel Aviv.
