Top 5: On tour in Patagonia

Jun 01, 2017 by Jamie Burke

Go Ahead Marketing Specialist Marissa set out to explore the world’s southern reaches on our Chile & Argentina: Patagonia to Buenos Aires tour. Here, she shares five things that made her tour of Patagonia unforgettable.

1. Torres del Paine National Park

With every stop, we thought the views couldn’t get much better, and then they would. Raging waterfalls, crystal-clear lakes, jagged mountaintops—each was more amazing than the last.

2. Los Glaciares National Park

This glacier-filled park is the highlight of the Argentinian side of Patagonia, which spans Chile, too. One thing I’ll never forget? The feeling I had sailing up to the enormous Perito Moreno Glacier.

3. The diverse wildlife

Condors, guanacos (relatives of llamas), flamingos, foxes—practically everywhere we looked, we spotted another wild animal that calls Patagonia home. We couldn’t put our cameras away!

4. Chilean wine country

Some of South America’s best wines come from Chile, and we had a chance to sip a few of them at a vineyard in the Casablanca region. The beautiful views made for a perfect pairing.

5. Food (and more food!)

I absolutely loved tasting all the different regional specialties, especially Argentinian steak in Buenos Aires. But empanadas, ceviche, and dulce de leche were all a (very) close second.

Is a trip to Patagonia on your travel wish list, too?
