The latest travel innovations

After years of classified research in collaboration with the departments of Theoretical Physics at two of Boston’s top universities, we are excited to announce our brand new portfolio of Go Ahead Time Travel Tours.

Time travel tours might be a long way off for us yet, but there’s nothing like dreaming up what might be ahead in the world of travel. Here are some of our favorite recent innovations in travel and technology.

Virtual reality travel

Want a 360-degree view of your next vacation spot? Thanks to Samsung’s Gear VR headset, created by Oculus, you have the ability to virtually experience your next destination.

Germ-free airplane restrooms

Boeing has invented a self-cleaning toilet that uses UV light to kill germs in airport lavatories when they’re not in use. Say goodbye to in-flight germs!

Self-serve airplane snacks

On JetBlue’s Airbus A321s, Mint passengers can treat themselves to a free snack from the “Marketplace” without requiring a flight attendant’s help.

Ambient lighting in-flight

Airlines have begun testing the use of backlights and ambient lighting to make your in-flight experience even better. Thanks to LED technology, Airbus’s new, next-gen aircraft features millions of lights choreographed to improve the overall experience.

International food at home

Feastly, which allows travelers to join a chef at home for an authentic meal, is like the culinary version of Airbnb. Currently featured in the U.S. cities of San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Feastly allows you to choose the cuisine you’re hoping to enjoy (and when), then find a chef who’s creating it in their own kitchen.

Wi-Fi free maps

No need to worry about getting around abroad without cell phone data—Citymaps has unveiled offline maps in over 5,000 cities, meaning it’s easier than ever to plan your free time sans Wi-Fi or international data plans.
