This tour was amazing. Greece was incredible and this trip did a great job of hitting the highlights without feeling too rushed. Our tour guide Artin was the best we’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
When I first purchased a tour on EF Go Ahead, I was very nervous only because this was my first international trip in decades AND my first trip thru this agency. However, right from the initial meet-and-greet with our tour director, Theodore, I knew right away that I picked the right agency
My experience on my dream vacation was exactly everything I had dreamed of and 100 times more. I want to thank Go Ahead Tours for making this possible for me. From the moment we arrived and throughout the entire trip my daughter and I had a amazing time. The hotels were fabulous
There's no question about it: Greece always makes a great getaway. In recent years, especially, it's become a clear traveler favorite. Summer is the most popular time for visitors, when the islands in particular tend to become especially crowded with sun-seeking adventurers.
If you have the flexibility to travel at other times of the year, the best time to visit Greece is in the off-season. When temperatures are cooler, you'll be able to immerse yourself in the true essence of the country. Check out one of our Greece guided tours, A Week in Ancient Greece: Athens, Delphi & Olympia, which is specifically designed to make the most of the cooler months.
Certain islands aren't accessible during the winter, but this time of year is excellent for visiting the mainland. Island hop between Mykonos and Santorini in the fall and spring for the ultimate Greek getaway.

What are some dining tips for Greece?
A trip to Greece is guaranteed to be full of meals featuring fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables. Some typical ingredients in Greek cuisine include olive oil and feta cheese, as well as grilled fish and meat. Other must-try dishes include spinach and cheese pies, called spanakopita, phyllo-wrapped feta, and gyros.
While on one of our escorted tours to Greece, you'll have the chance to try traditional flavors during included meals. Travel tip: Ask your Tour Director what their favorite local specialty is in each location and give it a try. They'll likely have recommendations for where to go, like a nearby taverna, or small tucked-away eatery.
Follow your taste buds on our Food & Wine: A Taste of Greece tour, which takes you from the mainland to the islands. You'll have the chance to go off the beaten path to sip local varietals in the Epanomi wine region, snack on small plates in Volos, and sample liquors including Ouzo, Metaxa, and Raki in Heraklion.
What are some packing tips for Greece?
When getting ready to go on one of our trips to Greece, check the weather to see what the temperature will be like in the destinations you'll be visiting. We highly recommend packing light—one suitcase and one carry-on bag per traveler—so you can get around with ease. If you're visiting the islands, you'll likely have to bring your bag with you on the ferry, so make sure you're comfortable carrying it.
Pack lightweight clothing that you can easily layer, as well as a good pair of walking shoes to wear while you're out exploring. The currency is different in Greece than in North America, too. Order some euros from your bank before you go, or use your debit card at an ATM once you arrive to stock up on some of the local currency.
Once you've reserved one of our Greece tour packages, we'll send you detailed information about what to bring with you. Don't forget to download the Go Ahead Tour Companion app before you take off, so you’ll have all the info you need about your trip right in your pocket.
