Seville extension

With whitewashed buildings, wrought-iron balconies, and colorful tiles everywhere you look, Seville’s the stuff of dreams—and we haven’t even mentioned the food yet. On this tour’s extension, you’ll explore the city and use it as a base to journey deeper into Andalusia. From olive oil in Carmona to sherry in Jerez, you’ll indulge in the region’s delicacies (and have plenty of chances to pick up some souvenirs).

Seville

Day 12: Train ride to Seville & sightseeing tour

Included meal: Breakfast

Board a high-speed train and head south to uncover the beauty of Seville, the historic Andalusian capital, on a guided sightseeing tour.

  • View the Plaza de Espana—a massive, semi-circular brick structure built in the Renaissance and neo-Moorish styles for the 1929 Ibero-American Exhibition.
  • Pass the whitewashed homes of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, a popular neighborhood known for its cobblestone streets, narrow alleys, and tiled benches.
  • See Seville Cathedral. One of the largest Gothic churches in the world, this 16th-century architectural marvel also contains artworks by Goya and Murillo, as well as an enormous and richly decorated central altarpiece.
  • Enter the Royal Alcazar, a palace complex that was once home to the Catholic Monarchs, King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella I.

Please note: You should confirm your passport information at least 30 days prior to departure to ensure we can secure your tickets to the Royal Alcazar.

Day 13: Sightseeing tour of Carmona & Jerez

Included meals: Breakfast, Tasting, Wine tasting

Venture into the countryside just outside of Seville, where you’ll experience Andalusia’s small towns and culinary specialties.

  • Sample artisanal olive oils and learn about their production at a farm in Carmona. The town is famous for its olive groves, their oils prized for their rich, fruity flavor.
  • Enjoy free time to eat lunch in town and, if you have a moment to spare, stroll the streets in search of the Alcazar del Rey Don Pedro, a former Moorish fortress.
  • Travel to Jerez, the birthplace of sherry—a unique fortified wine that’s been produced in the region for centuries. Endlessly versatile, it can range from refreshing and light to deep and rich, with nutty, fruity, and even savory notes.
  • Visit a bodega in Jerez and tour its gardens and storage areas to see how sherry is produced, then indulge in a tasting.

Day 14: Free day in Seville

Included meal: Breakfast

How will you spend your last day on tour? To forge deeper into Andalusia, add our optional excursion to the Sierra de Aracena to your itinerary. Among your stops: the village of Jabugo, one of the main producers of jamon iberico, or Iberian ham. (Of course you’ll have a taste!)

If you’d rather stay in the city, ask your Tour Director for a recommendation or return to Seville Cathedral to climb the Giralda Tower for panoramic views of the city. Whatever you choose, you’ll join back up with your groupmates this evening for a farewell drink.
