Feb 26, 2019 by Jamie Mc Laughlin

There’s nothing more thrilling for all of us here at Go Ahead Tours than bringing travelers to bucket-list destinations, and reading their online reviews is the cherry on top. We’ll be sharing some of these submissions at the end of each month to give you a taste of far-away locales that your fellow travelers love most—and Greece is up first.

Wondering what the on-tour experience in Greece is like? Take it from these traveler reviews and photos: It’s better than you could have ever imagined.

“I have to say this was a Blessed Trip. We had a tour director who went over and beyond making sure everyone was happy and having the time of their lives. Not only did our tour director make it special, I have to add that the 20 or so people in our group also made it very special! We all got along so well. We became family. I must also include all the local tour guides to this. Everyone was very knowledgeable about the sites they guided us on. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially if it is your first time to Greece. OPA!!!”

“I just can’t say enough good things about our tour of Greece with GoAheadTours June 2 through 10th. The weather was perfect. My husband and I loved Athens, Mykonos, Delos and Santorini! We especially loved Santorini and the little town of Oia, carved out of the cliffs high above the Aegean Sea. The sea was a bright turquoise blue, so clear that I could see my toes beneath the water without foam or debris; I’ve never before been to a beach with so little wind and waves that just gently lap the shore. We loved the hotels reserved for us—the buffet breakfasts were especially wonderful! We enjoyed and appreciated the transportation arranged for us by plane, by bus, and by ferry. But truly our tour guide made all the difference; Helen was so patient, so kind, and so filled with fabulous suggestions for us about how to spend our ‘free time.’ May I mention that our group was the best? We made some terrific new friends. We hope to visit Greece again soon!”

“A week in Greece and the Islands was just enough time to explore and appreciate the beauty of this country. Our tour director Kostas was wonderfully organized and knowledgeable and the trip ran smoothly because of him … Overall a great trip and perfect for those that can’t spend more than a week away.”

Photo and review by 8-time traveler Peter B. on Athens & Ancient Greece

“This was my first trip to Greece since I hitchhiked there as a teenager more than fifty years ago. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone young or old who wants to see some of the most important sights that Greece has to offer, with great accommodations.”

Photo and review by 2-time traveler Katie L. on Athens & Ancient Greece

“Greece was amazing! I had so much fun. The food was delicious, views were panoramic, and the temples were amazing to see. I didn’t know what to expect, especially being a single traveler, but it turned out to be even more fun than I had ever imagined …”

Photo and review by 7-time traveler Michael H. on The Greek Islands: Mykonos, Santorini & Crete

“This was a wonderful trip. The islands were unbelievable. The locals we met were friendly, funny, and very appreciative of the tourists. I had my wife, my two sons, one daughter in law, and a nephew and his fiancé with us as a combined celebration of birthdays, anniversaries and engagement. Everyone had a great time. Our tour director Giuseppe was beyond excellent …”

“Absolutely loved this tour. It is one you will not want to overlook. The time spent in the four different areas of Greece was perfect. The scenery was jaw dropping. The food was traditional Greece and was an asset to my first experience to this country.”

Photo and review by first-time traveler Sheryl V. on The Greek Islands: Mykonos, Santorini & Crete

“This was the first time I’ve done a tour and the first time traveling by myself … Roberto was a GREAT tour guide. Always funny and well organized. He had to make changes to our itinerary because of an impromptu national vote, but it still worked out well. He was also great about organizing additional excursions wherever we went … All of the excursions were very interesting and I enjoyed myself immensely. I look forward to my next tour!”

Photo and review by first-time traveler Denise W. on A Week in Greece: Athens, Mykonos & Santorini

“The Caribbean Sapphires (a group of 10 ladies) just returned from our tour to Greece. We toured Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. It was truly breathtaking. Each island had its own unique beauty. The food was phenomenal. Every detail from the flights, to the hotels, the bus drivers, the local tour guides, the venues and especially our tour director Dina—she was absolutely amazing. She was so knowledgeable and organized and had a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you to all of you at Go Ahead Tours for all the details and work in making our trip awesome. I would recommend Go Ahead Tours family, friends and anyone considering a trip to Greece.”

Photo and review by first-time traveler Lynn F. on The Greek Islands: Mykonos, Santorini & Crete

“… People were awesome, trips on ferries were an experience and all three islands and Athens were different and must be experienced. A trip of a lifetime. Check it off your bucket list!”

Photo and review by 7-time traveler Donna N. on A Week in Greece: Athens, Mykonos & Santorini

“… The hotel in Athens was nice but the the accommodations on Mykonos and Santorini were outstanding with pools that were memorizing. We were able to spend some down time at each one. The optional excursion on the catamaran for a sunset dinner cruise was unbelievable! …”

Photo and review by first-time traveler Patricia N. on A Week in Greece: Athens, Mykonos & Santorini

“It was a fantastic FAST fulfilled vacation … I saw EVERYTHING! Our tour director Gloria was INCREDIBLE! We did not have to do ANYTHING!!!! … take your free day to go to Oia (take the 250 steps down to the fishing village, jump into the Aegean Sea and off a small cliff if you want, and ride the donkey back to the top! Best day EVER! I will definitely be booking again … “

Review and photo by first-time traveler Dena P. on The Greek Islands: Mykonos, Santorini & Crete

“Greece is beautiful and has an amazing history. The tour guides at the different ruins were so informed and professional, I really learned a lot.”
