Links we love: Tulips, Mozart & more

Take a Tiny Escape with this smile-inducing link roundup of our favorite things from this week.

We created Tiny Escapes to help bring joy to your day in these unprecedented times. Follow us here or on Instagram and Facebook for more little distractions.

This week in inspiration: Creative challenges to do at home, staying connected, and a virtual walk through the tulips.

First, after you’ve watched all the movies and listened to every podcast and still need something to do—there’s bored.solutions. Their challenges range from “listening to lots of Mozart” to “learning how to code”, and are a great way to find something new (and fun) to do while you’re at home.

We’ve also been loving creative challenges—like this one to re-create famous paintings at home. (I’d think I’d pick Renoir’s Dance in the Country, just one of the paintings you can see in a museum online at the Musee D’Orsay!)

Of course, even though our travel plans are on pause, we’re still dreaming about it. This list of 101 ways to see the world without leaving home is just the kind of thing we’re into right now.

While people around the world are staying apart, it’s been inspiring to see the ways we’re coming together, too. Here, meet some of the Italians who are taking to their balconies to make music with their neighbors.

Another (literally) bright spot? In Zermatt, Switzerland, the Matterhorn is lit up nightly with hopeful messages for people around the world.

It’s pretty much a fact of life that seeing animals = instant happiness. That’s why we can’t get enough of this virtual safari to Zambia. I mean, how do you look at those baby giraffes and not smile?

Last but not least, seeing the tulips in bloom with an online stroll through Keukenhof Gardens brought a bit of spring to our day.
