Links we love: A musical roundup

Apr 23, 2020 by The Go Ahead Tours Team

We created Tiny Escapes to help bring joy to your day in these unprecedented times. Follow us here or on Instagram and Facebook for more little distractions.

Learning about some of your favorite art from famous musicians? If that sounds good to you, check out Art Zoom from Google. We recommend starting with this video on Claude Monet.

From Tiny Escapes to NPR’s Tiny Desk—their famous series of online concerts is looking a little different these days, as artists play from home. But they’re just as fun as ever. “It’s been running for over 10 years, so there are plenty of concerts to check out,” says our staffer (and Tiny Desk Concert fan) Courtney.

If you missed One World, a virtual concert that aired last weekend to raise awareness and funds for health care workers around the world, you can still watch the full performance online.

People around the world are finding creative ways to thank healthcare heroes, too, including playing music from their front porches and balconies—like these opera singers in London and Rome.

On his Twitter, Yo-Yo Ma is sharing #SongsofComfort with (virtual) audiences, and collaborating with other artists over video chat.

Just in case you missed it, our (now famous) Tour Director Ione shared a few songs on her favorite instrument—the accordion! She’s taking requests over on Facebook, so be sure to get yours in.
