On our tour of Italy and Greece, Go Ahead Tours staffer Harris found himself swept away by the beautiful Mediterranean scenery. He enjoyed the contrast between the simple, down-to-earth lifestyle in places like Sorrento and Nafplio and the bustling big cities like Rome and Athens. “Rome is a beautiful city because it’s so chaotic,” Harris added, “the city has so many layers of culture and history.”
Along with the stunning sites and beautiful spring weather (pro tip: travel to Italy and Greece in the off-season to avoid the crowds!), one other thing wowed Harris: the food. Handmade pasta, Caprese salad with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, and of course gelato—great food in the Mediterranean is enviably easy to find. “We all joked we were on the seven-day gelato diet,” Harris said.
All the while, Harris kept his camera at the ready and captured some incredible shots of the places he visited. “We travel for history, discovery, experience, culture—and food!” Harris said. “This tour has it all.”
