What travelers say about their trips to Botswana

great trip
07/11/19 by 15th-time traveler Jim
Duane, our Tour Director was great! At Hwange, we saw lions and many types of antelope. The river cruise at Chobe in Botswana was great and we were able to get very close to elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. We saw a lion and a leopard at Chobe.

A big-time bucket list trip checked off with this fabulous trip, everything was great: accommodations, guides, tour director and the overwhelming majesty of the animals and birds. My husband and I highly recommend it!

A different type of Safari
09/14/16 by 4th-time traveler Linda
Our Botswana and Zimbabwe safari experience was great. We saw an abundance of wildlife and definitely got our fill of elephants and hippos! We never found a leopard, and saw only one cheetah...but we weren't on the open plains, and they are the hardest to find.

Travel tips for Botswana tours

What are some top spots in Botswana?

If you’re planning a trip to Botswana, you won’t want to miss either of these:

  • Chobe National Park, one of the best off-the-beaten-path African safari destinations, where you’ll watch for elephants, crocodiles, and hippos as they come to bathe at sunset
  • Okavango Delta, where you can glide along reed-fringed waterways to see wildlife.

When should I visit Botswana?

The best time of year to go on our Botswana safari tour is between spring, summer, and fall, when the weather is warm and dry. Temperatures range between 75° and 95°F, so you’ll feel fairly comfortable as you journey from grasslands, woodlands, and waterways to explore Africa’s incredible diversity.
