Itinerary

Overnight Flight

Day 1: Travel day

Begin your journey to Australia. While flying over the Pacific Ocean, you’ll cross the International Date Line and “lose” a day, jumping ahead one date on the calendar. (Don’t worry: You’ll more than make it up while on tour!)

Day 2: Travel day

Keep flying toward Australia. Soon enough, you’ll be landing in Sydney.

Adelaide & Kangaroo Island extension

South Australia’s relaxed capital, Adelaide’s known for its festival scene and world-class wineries. After getting to know the city on a sightseeing tour, you’ll cruise to Kangaroo Island, a rugged sanctuary off the mainland. This natural paradise delivers wildlife encounters at every turn and—yep, you guessed it—kangaroos bounding across spectacular coastal terrain.

Adelaide

Day 12: Adelaide

Included meal: Breakfast

Fly to Adelaide, then hit the streets for an insider’s tour of the city with your Tour Director.

  • Cruise down North Terrace, admiring the elegant colonial architecture that tells the story of Adelaide’s 19th-century roots.
  • Take in views of the peaceful River Torrens as it winds through the heart of the city, with glimpses of the treasure-filled South Australian Museum and the lush Adelaide Botanic Garden.
  • Conclude your tour in the bustling hub of Victoria Square, from which you’ll have free time to wander through the legendary Adelaide Central Market—one of Australia’'s largest and oldest, where vendors call out their daily specials, the scent of fresh-baked bread mingles with exotic spices, and locals shop for everything from artisanal cheeses to just-picked produce.

Kangaroo Island

Day 13: Kangaroo Island and Flinders Chase National Park

Included meal: Breakfast

Bid farewell to Adelaide this morning as you wind along the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis. After a scenic drive filled with glimpses of rolling vineyards and dramatic ocean views, board the ferry to Kangaroo Island—a wildlife sanctuary dubbed “Australia’s Galapagos.”

  • Step into Flinders Chase National Park with your guide for an unforgettable wildlife safari. The island’s isolation has created a protected haven where kangaroos bounce through open fields, koalas doze in eucalyptus trees, and tiny tammar wallabies—found almost nowhere else—dart between shrubs. Keep your camera ready, as little penguins might make an appearance along the shoreline!
  • Feel the ocean spray at Admiral’s Arch, a natural rock bridge sculpted by the waves over millions of years, and look out for New Zealand fur seals basking on rocks.
  • Marvel at the aptly named Remarkable Rocks—massive granite boulders balancing improbably on the clifftop.
  • Drink in panoramic views from Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse, perched on the island’s southwestern tip.

Please note: Due to the nature of ferry schedules, the visit to Kangaroo Island may take place on either day 13 or 14.

Adelaide

Day 14: Seal Bay Conservation Park

Included meal: Breakfast

Start your morning with a true wildlife highlight at Seal Bay Conservation Park—a viewing of one of the country’s most important colonies of endangered Australian sea lions.

Before catching your ferry back to the mainland, soak up the island’s diverse landscapes with a final scenic drive past the historic American River Wharf, where pelicans gather and local fishing boats bob in the calm harbor. Continue to Pennington Bay to witness powerful ocean swells crash against pristine white sand, then finish at The Frenchmans Rock, offering panoramic views and connecting you to the island’s early European history.

Please note: Due to the nature of ferry schedules, the visit to Kangaroo Island may take place on either day 13 or 14.

Day 15: Free day in Adelaide

Included meal: Breakfast

You find yourself in one of the world’s great wine capitals, so why not make the most of it? Join us for an optional excursion that celebrates this region’s incredible vintages, where you’ll enjoy tastings at three different vineyards along with a seasonal lunch.

If you opt to stay back in Adelaide, you can spend a leisurely day exploring the city’s cultural heart along North Terrace. Start at the Art Gallery of South Australia, with its impressive Indigenous collection, then hop next door to the South Australian Museum to marvel at Aboriginal artifacts and natural history exhibits.

Then, join your fellow group members and raise a toast to your trip with a farewell drink.
