Honolulu, Oahu3 nights
Day 1: Arrival in Honolulu
Included meal: Welcome dinner
Welcome to Hawaii! Touch down on Oahu, a volcanic outcrop rising to greet you out of the Pacific Ocean, and board a shuttle to your hotel in Waikiki, the island’s famous beachfront neighborhood. Settle in, then get to know the rest of your group during a welcome dinner, served with beer or wine.
Day 2: Sightseeing tour of Oahu’s North Shore & Waimea Valley
Included meal: Breakfast
A surfer’s paradise. A haven of small-town charm. A sanctuary of Hawaiian heritage. Oahu’s North Shore and Waimea Valley offer a glimpse into the island’s wilder, more soulful side—and with your Tour Director guiding the way, you’ll experience it all.
- Depart by bus for the legendary North Shore, where the road hugs the coastline and the waves roll in with cinematic drama. As you drive past storied surf spots like Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach, imagine the daring surfers who’ve carved their names into the ocean’s memory.
- Stop in Haleiwa, a laid-back town that blends surf culture with island artistry. Here, you’ll have time to explore at your own pace—browse local boutiques and art galleries, stroll along the beach, or sample fresh island fare from food trucks and cozy restaurants.
- Continue to Waimea Valley, a 150-acre botanical garden steeped in natural beauty and cultural significance. On a walking tour led by your Tour Director, follow shaded trails past ancient archaeological sites and learn how this sacred valley has long been a center of Hawaiian spirituality and tradition.
- Enjoy free time to wander the lush grounds on your own. With over 5,000 species of tropical plants and trees, the valley is a living museum of biodiversity. And if you choose to, why not cap off your visit with a refreshing swim beneath the cascading waters of Waimea Falls?
Day 3: Free day in Honolulu
Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner
If you’re looking to make the most of your time on Oahu, consider joining today’s Pearl Harbor excursion. This guided experience takes you to one of the most significant historic sites in the United States, where you’ll visit the USS Arizona Memorial and learn about the events of December 7, 1941.
Prefer to explore on your own? Oahu offers plenty of ways to spend a free day. You might head to Waikiki Beach to soak up the sun or try your hand at surfing. For a more scenic adventure, hike up to Diamond Head crater for panoramic views of Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean.
Rejoin your group in the evening at an authentic luau and tuck into an included three-course dinner.
Kauai3 nights
Day 4: Flight to Kauai
Included meal: Breakfast
Hop on a flight to Kauai—the lush Garden Isle and the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands. Once you touch down, transfer to your hotel and spend a relaxing evening in.
Day 5: Waimea Canyon & Hanapepe Valley
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today, shift your focus to Kauai’s rugged inlands, beginning with a visit to Waimea Canyon. Dubbed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, this gorge plunges up to 3,000 feet deep in places. Take in its majesty from multiple vantage points and marvel at the interplay of emerald foliage, sandy red rocks, and foaming white waterfalls.
Afterward, make a pitstop in Koloa, the heart of Hawaii’s old sugar-planting industry, to visit Old Koloa before continuing your journey south to Poipu. Here, you can spot the thrilling Spouting Horn blowhole—a natural lava tube that channels the surf and releases a massive, roaring spout of water up to 50 feet into the air.
After savoring an included lunch, you’ll end your day on a (literal) high note at the Hanapepe Valley Lookout, where your perch affords sweeping shots of Kauai’s jagged mountains.
Day 6: Free day in Kauai & farewell dinner
Included meals: Breakfast, Farewell dinner
Looking to experience Kauai’s dramatic coastline from a new perspective? Consider joining today’s Na Pali Coast catamaran excursion. This scenic cruise offers a front-row seat to one of the island’s most breathtaking natural wonders—soaring sea cliffs, emerald valleys, and remote beaches only accessible by water. Along the way, you may spot marine life like dolphins or sea turtles, and enjoy time to snorkel or simply relax on deck.
Want to chart your own course? Kauai is full of opportunities for independent exploration. Spend the day unwinding on postcard-perfect beaches or take a leisurely walk through the lush landscapes of Allerton Garden.
Whatever you choose, you’ll come together with your group for one last night in paradise. Sit down to a farewell dinner, served with beer or wine, and reminisce about your favorite moments on tour.

Add even more adventure to your Hawaiian escape with a three-night extension to Kona. From the lava-sculpted beauty of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to sacred coastal sites and world-renowned coffee farms, the Big Island offers a striking contrast to the lush landscapes of Kauai and Oahu. It’s the perfect way to round out your journey—with more sun, more stories, and a deeper connection to Hawaii’s raw, natural wonder.
Kona, Big Island3 nights
Day 7: Flight to Kona
Included meal: Breakfast
This morning, hop on a quick flight from Kauai to Hawaii—the Big Island. Your destination: Kona, a sun-drenched town on the island’s western coast known for its coffee farms, lava landscapes, and oceanfront charm.
Day 8: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Spend the morning exploring one of the most geologically fascinating places on Earth—Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, the raw power of nature is on full display as you journey through volcanic landscapes shaped by centuries of eruptions.
- Drive into the park, then head up Kilauea—one of the world’s most active volcanoes—to peer into its caldera. Indigenous Hawaiian beliefs held that Pele, goddess of fire, resided there; with near-constant eruptions since 1983, she’s still making her presence known. The walk up will lead you over uneven or rocky terrain—you can choose to skip the climb and relax in the lush park while you wait for your group to return.
- Listen as a geologist accompanies your group to the Kilauea Visitor Center, where you can learn more about the dynamic volcanic landscape that surrounds you.
- Dig into an included lunch at a local restaurant set within the national park, featuring traditional dishes that offer a taste of the island’s rich culinary heritage.
Day 9: Free morning in Kona & Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park visit
Included meal: Breakfast
How will you spend your free morning in Kona? To once again take to Hawaii’s welcoming waters, add our optional snorkeling outing to Kealakekua Bay to your itinerary. If you’d rather stay on dry land, ask your Tour Director for an activity recommendation or consider visiting a coffee farm to learn more about Kona’s famous, buzzy export.
This afternoon, detour south to visit one of the Big Island’s prized attractions: the hallowed grounds of Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. Rebuilt villages and holy sites illustrate how, until the early 1800s, the area was a haven for defeated warriors and others who broke kapu—the island’s ancient code of conduct.
