Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Dublin & whiskey tasting

Set out to discover Dublin with a local guide who knows every cobblestone and corner of Ireland’s capital.
- Glide past the leafy calm of St. Stephen’s Green before arriving at Merrion Square, where elegant Georgian doors—each painted a different brilliant hue—shine like jewels against the city’s gray stone.
- Join the hum of Grafton Street, Dublin’s famous shopping stretch, where buskers fill the air with music and the scent of fresh pastries drifts from cafe windows.
- Step inside Butlers Chocolate Cafe to sample creamy, handcrafted chocolates—because no proper Dublin day should be without something sweet.
- Wave hello to the bronze Molly Malone statue as she “wheels her wheelbarrow” along her namesake street.

Then, take a guided tour of the Teeling Whiskey Distillery in the Liberties neighborhood of central Dublin— Dublin's first new distillery in 125 years since opening in 2015. Enjoy a free evening in Dublin, continuing your revelry in Temple Bar or joining us for an optional excursion and raising a glass to Dublin’s most famous brew. Day 4: Transfer to Kilkenny & cider tasting

Travel to Kilkenny, Ireland’s best-preserved medieval town, where cobbled lanes twist past ivy-clad buildings and every stone seems to hold a story. Known as the Marble City for the dark limestone that glimmers in its architecture, Kilkenny blends history, artistry, and small-town charm in equal measure.
- Step inside St. Canice’s Cathedral, a magnificent Gothic landmark that’s been a center of worship since the sixth century. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb the round tower next door for panoramic views of the city’s slate rooftops and the rolling countryside beyond.
- Make your way to Kilkenny Castle, perched dramatically on the banks of the River Nore. Wander through its lavishly restored rooms, filled with period furnishings and portraits of noble families, and stroll manicured gardens where locals picnic on sunny afternoons.
Later, head to the Highbank Orchards, which doubles as an orchard and distillery. Join a local guide to discover how organic farming practices shape every step of cider-making, from apple to bottle. Take a tractor ride through the orchards, then visit the distillery and 17th-century mill to sample organic ciders, syrups, and apple spirits alongside an expert. You’ll also meet the fifth-generation farm owners, who’ll share stories of their family’s deep-rooted history and passion for the craft.
Tonight, sit down for an included dinner at a local pub, served with beer or wine.
Day 5: Irish cheesemaking class

Head to the scenic countryside outside of Kilkenny for a guided cheesemaking course.

Day 6: West Cork via Kinsale foodie walking tour & mead tasting

Enjoy a full free day to relax in your hotel or explore West Cork at your leisure. If you choose to join us for an optional excursion, you’ll get to soak up sweeping coastal views, local history, and a proper Irish tea as you travel along the rugged Sheep’s Head Peninsula. Grassy trails and rocky cliffs meet the sea here, and you’ll zip by them before visiting elegant gardens of Bantry House. End your day with afternoon tea—fresh bakes, finger sandwiches, and a glass of bubbly included.

Day 9: West Cork farm tour & transfer to Killarney

Day 11: County Limerick via Dingle & brewery tour

Make your way to County Limerick, stopping to explore the Dingle Peninsula along the way.
- Spend free time exploring Inch Beach, a vast golden stretch backed by rolling green hills and crashing Atlantic surf. The views across Dingle Bay are some of Ireland’s most breathtaking—ever-changing with the light and weather.
- Set off on a short walking tour of Dingle, a harborside gem known for its artisan shops, fishing boats, and musical spirit. As you stroll its winding streets, you’ll spot hand-painted shopfronts, cozy pubs humming with fiddles and flutes, and maybe even a friendly local eager to share a story.
- Stop for a scoop (or two) of creamy, small-batch ice cream at the beloved Murphy’s, where flavors like Dingle Sea Salt and Irish Brown Bread are made using local ingredients and a healthy dose of charm.

Day 12: Cliffs of Moher & food of Galway walking tour

Journey south of Galway along the coast, taking time to view the spectacular scenery all around you.
- Redefine “taking the scenic route” with a quick detour into County Clare and a walk along the mesmerizing Cliffs of Moher. Sheer cliffs stretching into the distance, crashing waves below—you know this one.
- Visit the Burren Smokehouse in County Clare and learn the story behind the facility and its smoked fish process.

Up next: a full day in Galway, all to yourself. Early risers should head for the Long Walk, a not-so-long row of color-blocked houses just past the Spanish Arch. Their seaside location and vibrant aesthetics make for a great photo op—especially at sunrise.
Then, enjoy the freedom of an unstructured schedule, or build your day with an optional excursion. For architecture and vistas plucked out of a fantasy novel, you’ll want to take up our visit to Kylemore Abbey’s lush grounds, followed by a jaunt to the Connemara Coast to slurp fresh oysters pulled from the waters of Ballinakill Bay.
This evening, enjoy a farewell drink as you celebrate your trip with your fellow group members.

- Round-trip flights booked through Go Ahead Tours arrive in Dublin and depart from Shannon.

The responsibility of the Tour Director is to ensure the group enjoys a smooth and informative journey, and they can’t be relied on to provide individualized assistance to any one traveler.
- This tour moves at a reasonable pace to avoid missing scheduled stops. The rest of the group cannot miss any scheduled activities because of the needs of an individual.
- Due to the pace and physical activity level of this tour, mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers will be difficult to use and are not recommended. Please notify Go Ahead Tours before your departure if you plan to bring these on tour with you.

- Go Ahead handpicks every hotel you’ll stay at, striking a balance between comfort, location, and local charm.
- Specific properties will vary based on your departure date, but are typically three-to-four-star hotels; always include private bathrooms; and usually have in-room safes for valuables. Additionally, your hotels will have Wi-Fi, but access may be limited to common areas. There may also not be elevators.
- Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that your accommodations will have laundry services or facilities. We recommend checking directly with your hotels once they’ve been confirmed, about 30 days prior to departure.
- Some hotels on this tour are situated on narrow streets; as such, our buses can’t drop you off right out front. In these instances, you’ll have to walk your luggage to the property, no more than a few blocks.
- Please be advised that the air conditioning in European hotels and buildings is often not as strong or cool as what you might be used to in the U.S. or Canada.
- Ireland (and the United Kingdom on the tour extension) operates within 230-240 volts and uses a Type G plug with three large, flat pins.

- Excursions are available for purchase prior to departure, and most excursions will be available for purchase while you are on tour directly through your mobile app for an additional $10 USD.

Please note that at this time not all our destinations offer headsets due to supplier limitations.
- The water is safe to drink throughout your tour unless posted otherwise.
- This tour includes three dinners: They may be set menus, buffets, or family-style meals, depending on the location. Dinners also include one glass of beer, wine, or a soft drink, as well as water.
- Breakfast each morning is also included at the hotel and is typically buffet style with hot and cold options.
- Irish pubs serve up hearty lunches, such as the traditional stew of bacon and boiled cabbage. Soda bread is delicious, very filling, and served with many meals. Nibble a scone at afternoon tea, with a pat of high-quality butter from County Kerry. Guinness stout is an international sensation, but locals might favor Murphy's, depending on where you are.
- Dublin has seen something of a culinary revolution, and the city now boasts an impressive array of new restaurants offering exciting cuisine with continental Europe, Asian, and even American influences.
- For traditional English fare at a reasonable price, try a pub meal of fish and chips or bangers and mash. Stilton cheese, steak and kidney pie, and Cumberland sausages are also worth a try. Sip afternoon tea with delicious finger sandwiches and scones at Harrods in London for the ultimate in English tradition.
- Modern-day London boasts an array of diverse international restaurants. Popular options for the adventurous palate include Indian, Thai, Chinese, Indonesian, Greek, and West African cuisine.
- At the conclusion of your tour, it is customary to offer your Tour Director and driver a gratuity in local currency. Please keep current exchange rates in mind.
- We recommend tipping $10USD to $12USD per person per day for your Tour Director and $4USD per person per day for your driver.
- If applicable, we also recommend $2USD per local guide.
- Tips can only be paid in cash.
- If you are traveling to multiple countries with different currencies and the same Tour Director, ask them what currency they prefer for their tip.
- The cost of porterage is included in your tour price, and it is not necessary to tip baggage handlers.
