Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik
Included meal: Breakfast
Though its history begins in the 7th century, Dubrovnik looks more like a movie set than an ancient settlement. Epic stone walls, rising above the twinkling waters of the Adriatic, cloister the orange-roofed buildings of the Old Town—and today, you’ll follow a local guide on a tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Look out over the city from a panoramic viewpoint and bask in the sight of the Old Town, its sawtooth shoreline, and Lokrum, a car-free island that doubles as a nature reserve.
- Enter the Franciscan Church and Monastery. Built over the course of centuries—and rebuilt after an earthquake leveled Dubrovnik in 1667—it’s noted for its extensive library of more than 20,000 books, manuscripts, and incunables.
After your morning tour, you can either ride the bus back to your accommodations or hang back and explore the city center on your own. You’ll all meet up at your hotel in the evening: Should you choose, you’ll cap your day with a cruise, followed by a seaside dinner and a stroll through old Dubrovnik. have served as the city’s calling card for centuries. Today, you’ll take a guided tour.
- Stop at a viewpoint to soak in panoramic views of the Old Town, coast, and nearby Lokrum Island.
- Pay a visit to the 13th-century Franciscan Monastery, which boasts the most extensive library in the region.

Your free day in Dubrovnik is a golden opportunity to slow down and savor the city. If history and views are your thing, you can loop around the entire Old Town atop its medieval walls. Looking for something more laid back? Swim or sunbathe at Sveti Jakov or Banje beaches.
Alternatively, join us for an optional excursion—and a dramatic change of scenery—to the tiny Republic of Montenegro and the Bay of Kotor, often likened to a fjord for its maze of glassy waters and steep forested mountains. The drive alone is worth the trip, with twisty coastal roads that boast panoramic views at every turn.

Included meal: Breakfast
As you travel toward Croatia’s sun-soaked Dalmatian coast, pause in Mostar, a city in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina where centuries of Ottoman influence remain etched into the city’s architecture, cuisine, and culture. Follow a local guide through cobbled lanes lined with artisans’ stalls and spice-scented cafes.
- Step inside a centuries-old mosque to admire its delicate decoration and the view from its minaret, then visit a traditional Ottoman house for a glimpse into daily life from long ago.

Later tonight, join your tourmates for dinner, served with beer or wine.
Please note: For 2025 departures, due to ongoing renovations, the visit to the Ivan Mestrovic Gallery will be replaced with entrance to the Cathedral of Saint Domnius.
