    Mandatory proof of vaccination
    NEEDED BEFORE ARRIVAL

    Travelers may prove they have received all doses of a vaccine using one of the below methods: -Vaccination certificate issued by NHS; -Vaccination certificates issued in EU countries or Switzerland with vaccines approved by the EMA; -Vaccination certificates issued in the USA with vaccines approved by the FDA. -Vaccination certificates issued from a relevant public health authority in Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, or Taiwan. Additionally, travelers from the USA must show proof of USA residencies, such as a USA passport, visa, or Green Card. Mixing between two-dose vaccines (Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna) is also recognized. Travelers who cannot present a vaccination certificate under this criteria must follow the testing and quarantine rules for unvaccinated travelers. Travelers are considered fully vaccinated if they have had the final dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before the arrival date in the UK.

    NEEDED BEFORE ARRIVAL

    Fully vaccinated travelers do not need a negative COVID-19 test result to enter the UK. Travelers are considered fully vaccinated when they have been vaccinated by an approved vaccine administered by an approved authority.

    Travelers must have a valid negative COVID-19 (PCR, LAMP, or antigen) test result in English, French, or Spanish. The test must be taken any time in the 3 days before departure of the last direct flight to the United Kingdom. Travelers arriving directly to England on Friday could take a test any time on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. The test result must be available for boarding. The test should meet at least 97% specificity and 80% sensitivity. This requirement applies to all travelers including United Kingdom citizens, residents, and all transit passengers.

    Travelers, including transit passengers, are required to complete a public health passenger locator form online before departure to the UK. The form must be submitted a maximum of 48 hours before arrival in the UK. Travelers must show either a printed copy or an online copy of the form on their phone at the UK border.

    Travelers who are fully vaccinated must present a vaccination certificate showing that it has passed 7 days after the 2nd dose of Pfizer-BioNTech, 14 days after the 2nd dose of Moderna, 15 days after the 2nd dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca, 14 days after a single dose of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen). Travelers that have received a combination of two different vaccines are not considered fully vaccinated. Travelers have the option to present proof via EU Digital Certificate.

    Masks are mandatory on public transportation

    Travelers must wear masks on public transportation in the United States. Some states still require the use of masks in public places, please verify the regional requirements before traveling.

    Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
    NEEDED BEFORE ARRIVAL

    Travelers must have an original printed or electronic negative COVID-19 viral test result (NAAT: RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, TMA, NEAR, HDA, or Antigen: Rapid). The test must be performed no more than 3 days before the first scheduled departure time in the flight itinerary. If a traveler’s flight is at 1 pm on a Friday, the traveler could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Tuesday or after. Test results must include the traveler's full name and at least one other identifier such as date of birth or passport number. The test must also clearly state that the results are "negative," SARS-CoV-2 RNA not detected," SARS-CoV-2 antigen not detected," or "COVID-19 note detected." A test marked "invalid" is not acceptable. This requirement applies to all travelers, including US citizens, residents, and transit travelers, as well as travelers who have been vaccinated. Travelers may use a self-test (sometimes referred to as a home test) that meets the given criteria. Some US states might have more strict rules regarding COVID-19 test types and where they must be administered. Please carefully review the rules prior to travel to each state.
