Carnival in Venice is the largest and most important Venetian festival. A mix of tradition, history, and entertainment in a unique city. It is a festival that attracts thousands of people from all around the world. Venice Carnival was first held in Venice in the 11th century and consisted of over two months of revelry, until it fell into decline during the 18th century. It was revived in 1979 with great success and nowadays it is the perfect excuse to dress in a mask and costume, parade around the city, and enjoy the live music in the main squares with Venetians. Hi! My name is Linda and I am from Italy! I live in Rome but I am originally from beautiful Southern Italy. Later, I started working in the Rome office for Language Travel until I met the folks from Educational Tours…and it was love at first sight! I love theatre, writing (mostly about food and wine), cooking, fashion and I have a true passion for art and Archaeology. I am a professional interpreter for English and French and a Rome local guide. However, being a Tour Director remains the best way to express my personality! I simply love seeing the world through the eyes of those I tour with and sharing my knowledge with them. Whether you’re interested in Italy, Greece, England or France, I love the world and I am looking forward to exploring it with you!
