Hawaii.....What a Place!!

This was my ninth tour with Go Ahead and my husbands first, and just like all the others, it was amazing. The itinerary was perfect, the food delicious, the accommodations beautiful and centrally located, and the tour guide was helpful and very attentive. The one thing I loved particularly, that I've never gotten on any of the other tours with Go Ahead, was a small purse size booklet entitled the "Daily Schedule". It listed a multitude of information pertinent to this trip and was so convenient to carry with me every day. It told us for each day, what time to meet for breakfast, what time luggage would be picked up, the times for everything planned for the day, dinner times (since they varied from day to day), maps of the islands, important addresses and phone numbers in the event of an emergency, listed common Hawaiian vocabulary words we could learn and even had the names of our fellow travelers in the back of the book for reference (which I really appreciated, since I have problems remembering names). Since I plan to travel again with Go Ahead, it would be great to see booklets like this again on future trips. My husband and I especially liked the trip to Pearl Harbor, not realizing that it would be such an emotional visit to the USS Arizona Memorial. The inter-island flights were well organized and what a pleasant surprise to arrive in Hilo, which turned out to be quiet and a much slower pace than Honolulu. The only thing I can say about Maui is, WOW. We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort right on the beach and couldn't have been in a more beautiful location. All excursions were well planned and executed....... All in all, we had a great time and are even considering a return trip in the future.

Hi Susan! We’re so glad you enjoyed your ninth Go Ahead tour (and your husband’s first)! It’s great to know your positive impressions of the itinerary, as well as your Tour Director. We’re glad that you found the booklet helpful throughout your trip, and we will be sure to let our team know internally. Our teams and Tour Directors prepare groups differently, depending on the destination. We’re always looking for ways we can further prepare our travelers, so we greatly appreciate your feedback in this area. We’re glad to know that visiting the USS Arizona Memorial was a moving experience for you. Many travelers appreciate having the opportunity to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in the tragic attack on Pearl Harbor. Thank you for taking the time to review your tour, Susan. We look forward to welcoming you on tour again next year!

Hayes Hawaii Trip

This was a wonderful, gorgeous trip. Food was great, almost all the experiences were great. There were a few exception. This was the first tour with GoAhead for this director which at times made is somewhat challenging for her. One somewhat negative thing is when we went to the Bishop (I think) Museum. The traffic was really, really bad. There should have been an optional/backup plan for a potty stop. I understand this was the tour director first tour, but surely the driver should be very familiar. The one thing that could have be left out was the goat dairy. My wife uses a walker. I called before we left and asked about this. I got one very bad piece of information. They failed to tell about the optional waterfalls trip. They absolutely do no not allow walkers on the trail. Of course we did not go... very disappointing. We did get a refund but it would been much better to get the correct information! The overall trip was great (except my wife did not like the humidity) and would do it again. Our favorite island was The Big Island, especially the optional hilocopter ride.

Dear Daniel, We’re glad you and your wife enjoyed your trip overall. We appreciate your feedback on the various aspects that you feel could be improved, and we will be sure to communicate them to our team internally. Regarding your tour Director, we regret that her efforts didn’t always meet your expectations. We take your feedback very seriously and will share it with the relevant departments for evaluation. Regarding the Hana Waterfall Walk optional, we are sorry that the mobility expectations were not properly set. A member of our Quality Control team reached out to you to discuss this matter further. If you would like to speak with a member of our team, please give us a call back at 1-800-597-0350. Our goal is to help all of our travelers find the perfect tour and optionals that match their mobility needs, and this is something we are continuously working to address with our Customer Service representatives. Again, we regret that the mobility requirements for this optional were not accurately set. We certainly never want that to be the case, and we will work to ensure that that doesn’t happen again in the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We hope to welcome you and your wife on tour again.

Fantastic experience!!!

Mike and I enjoyed our first trip to Hawai so much! We got to see and experience so much due to the fact that the people at Go Ahead Tours planned it all for us and all we had to do was enjoy it. Pat, our tour director could not have been more personable and accommodating, and we will be booking with Go Ahead again.
