Tipping
Thai people are genuinely happy to help foreign visitors and don’t expect anything in return. But if your guide or any other person during your trip is especially kind or helpful, a gratuity would be a generous gesture and greatly appreciated. Taxi drivers always appreciate rounding the fare up a little as do restaurant staff when you collect your change. We recommend $2USD per person per day for your driver and $4USD to $6USD per person per day for your tour director. If applicable, we also recommend $1USD per local guide. Tips may only be paid in cash.
