Cuisine
One of the pleasures of traveling is the delightful variety of local cuisine. In Norway, reindeer and elk steaks are popular with meat eaters, served in a number of delicious ways. Seafood lovers will enjoy the array of salmon, shellfish, pickled herrings and scrod.
Sweden has similar specialties, as well as their trademark Swedish meatballs with herbed potatoes.
In addition to traditional fish dishes, Denmark also produces fabulous cheeses, and local specialties such as roast pork served with red cabbage. Danish pastries provide a delicious snack. Finland’s and Russia’s cuisine includes pies of pork and fish, smoked herrings and thick pea soup with black rye bread.
