Panama City contains a large free trade zone, where you may be able to find bargains from around the world. You may find it difficult to find Panama hats on your tour, particularly authentic Panama hats; that's because Panama hats were actually invented in Ecuador (Panama was merely the site of their international resale). Bananas, coffee and other tropical produce can be found easily throughout the country.
