Shopping
Santa Fe
Many of these Western cities are still centered on their original downtown areas. Surrounding Main Street are all the chicest retailers and gift shops. Some token souvenirs of the Wild West are cowboy boots and hats or unique jewelry made from turquoise and silver. All these things are sold in Santa Fe. The city is a blend of Spanish, Mexican and Native American influences and this is obvious throughout the boutiques. Jewelry stores and galleries offer a fine selection of original and intricately designed works of art.
Durango
Durango began as an Old West mining town and these influences are still apparent today. The best shopping opportunities are located along Main Street and the Silverton Railroad Depot. A wide variety of items are sold in the shops ranging from authentic Western hats to home décor. Salt Lake City has a revitalized main street that is lined with restaurants and shops. This is a sure bet for unique Utah-made gifts. There are also two malls in this vacinity.
Jackson
The center of Jackson is filled with both local boutiques and well-known retailers. The Town Square is a good starting point for shopping. Stores surround the square and other main shopping streets branch off from this point as well. You can find souvenir shirts and local crafts. There are many art galleries to wonder and view Western themed works
