Rhino Charge:
This annual fundraising event close to Nyeri, Kenya invites intrepid travellers to navigate their way through the bush of Kenya's Aberdare National Park in this popular 4x4 rally. The night before the big race, participants are given geographical details of posts they need to cross and then are set loose across the dusty trails, swampy paths and marshland. The winner is the team that covers the least ground to reach all the checkpoints and there are several prizes up for grabs for the winners. Participants raise sponsorship money for the Rhino Ark, a charity set up to gather funds for the Aberdare Rhino Sanctuary project.
Wildebeest Migration:
Tourists from all over the world travel to Kenya's fantastic Masai Mara Game Reserve to watch the annual wildebeest migration, arguably one of the most spectacular natural sights on Earth. Each year, thousands of wildebeest in huge herds gather in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park before making the clockwise circular journey up into Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve in the eternal search for new grazing areas. And with the huge numbers of wildebeest come the predators, making this a great time of year for wildlife watching.
Kenyan Music Festival:
Open to everyone ranging from student choirs to the general public, the annual Kenyan Music Festival is a celebration of song and music that embraces all conceivable styles and genres. This Nairobi festival features many different performances, including African, Western, and Oriental vocal, instrumental music, dance and elocution in African and Western languages. The folk music category is a particular favorite.
