Day 1 - Overnight Flight

Day 2 - Lisbon
Welcome to Lisbon! A Go Ahead representative escorts you to your hotel. The afternoon is free to explore before an included Welcome Dinner.

Day 3 - Lisbon
This morning, a local guide leads your comprehensive tour of Lisbon. You’ll see Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the Torre de Belém, the Moorish Alfama district, the Castelo de São Jorge and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Tonight, opt for a dinner excursion that will feature a live performance of fado, a beloved Portuguese musical style.

Fado Dinner & Show
Spend your evening at Lisbon tavern listening to fado. Derived from the Latin word fatum—meaning "prophecy" or "fate"—fado is Portugal’s national musical treasure. Fado's traditional theme is “saudade,” a word that doesn't quite translate to English but conveys an overwhelming sense of longing for something lost. Dinner is included during this memorable musical evening.

Day 4 - Lisbon
The next few days are yours to explore Lisbon, either completely at your own pace or by taking advantage of the optional excursions offered. You might immerse yourself in the art at the Museu da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian or the Museum of Ancient Art. Venture outside Lisbon to relax on the Costa do Estoril, also known as Portugal’s Riviera, on the sunny beaches of Estoril or Guincho. Your Go Ahead Tour Director will be available to help and offer suggestions for your plans. You might also join an optional excursion to Sintra.

The poet Lord Byron called Sintra the most beautiful town in the world. You can decide for yourself on today's half-day excursion to this small city at the base of the Sintra Mountains. Today, Sintra is a popular weekend escape for Lisboetas, but it was once the playground of Portuguese royalty. You'll enjoy a glimpse into the life of Portugal's kings and queens during a tour of Sintra National Palace.

Day 5 - Lisbon
Spend another day as you wish exploring Lisbon. Or you may choose to take an optional excursion to Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Évora
Depart for a full day in Évora, a former seat of Portuguese royalty. During a guided walking tour of the city, you’ll visit its most important monuments, including the Cathedral of Évora and the Roman-era Temple of Diana. After enjoying an included lunch,you'll visit the Church of St. Francis and its famous Chapel of Bones followed by a walk to the Municipal Gardens.
