Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - O'ahu

Board your flight to Hawaii, an island state of white-sand beaches, active volcanoes, sugar-cane fields and dramatic sunsets. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a Go Ahead representative and assisted with the transfer to your hotel. This evening, meet your fellow travelers for a Welcome Drink and orientation.

Day 2 - O'ahu

Kick off your journey with a guided tour of the West End of O’ahu to Nu’uanu Pali Lookout where, in 1795, King Kamehameha and his warriors defeated the O’ahu armies by sending them over these steep, forested cliffs and uniting the Hawaiian Islands. Drive along the coast to explore the Ko’olau Mountains, Waikiki, Hanauma Bay and the Halowna Blowhole. Next, explore Diamond Head, the crater whose iconic profile looms over Waikiki. Enjoy free time this afternoon, and check out some of Hawaii’s famous beaches (surfboard not included). Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner.

Day 3 - O'ahu

Enjoy a free day to explore the natural wonders of Oahu. You might take a sea plane flight, following the exact path the Japanese Zeros flew over Pearl Harbor in 1941. Test your surfing legs at Kailua Beach, hike up to Ka’ena Point or explore Doris Duke’s version of paradise at Shangri La. Or embark on an optional excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center, where you’ll tour its seven native villages and participate in the daily adventures of Hawaiian and other South Pacific cultures.

Explore the 42-acre Polynesian Cultural Center, which represents 8 island cultures and over 15 million square miles of the vast South Pacific. Day 4 - O'ahu

Take a guided sightseeing tour of Pearl Harbor this morning, where you’ll pay tribute to the fallen soldiers and walk out onto the floating memorial. Then head to the Bishop Museum, a museum that Charles Reed Bishop founded in 1889 in honor of his late wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last descendant of the royal Kamehameha family. Lunch is on your own at the museum. Enjoy free time in Honolulu or Waikiki this evening, or opt to embark on a Sunset Cruise Dinner.

Day 5 - The Big Island

Fly to Hilo, on the Big Island, this morning. Travel to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and enjoy lunch. Then embark on the adventure of a lifetime. This afternoon, with a certified volcanologist as your guide, you will gaze upon the results of 70 million years of volcanism, migration, and evolution on a guided tour of the National Park, an International Biosphere Reserve and Hawaii’s only World Heritage Site. You’ll check into your hotel this evening, and begin your explorations of Hilo.

Day 6 - The Big Island

Today is yours to explore Hilo at your own pace. A city rich in cultural traditions, Hilo is the perfect spot to delve into Hawaiian culture, language, and yes, the hula. You might also explore the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, a spectacular garden valley that winds its way through a true tropical rainforest and brings visitors down to magnificent ocean views. Alternatively, you can choose to embark on an optional Helicopter Ride this afternoon for a bird’s eye view of Hawaii’s most enchanting volcanoes and waterfalls.

Day 7 - Maui

Board a short flight to Maui this morning. Once you land, your tour director will introduce you to majestic Iao Valley, where you’ll see the Iao Needle, a 2,250-foot natural rock pinnacle presiding over the Iao stream and surrounded by the walls of the Pu’u Kukui Crater. You’ll have plenty of free time for lunch and exploring before continuing on to Lahaina. On your tour of Lahaina Town, the jewel in the crown of Maui, you’ll see the awe-inspiring Banyan Tree Park, the Brick Palace, the Buddhist Temple at the Shogun Mission and the pagodas at the Jodo Mission. Settle into your hotel this evening and explore Maui’s many dining options.

Day 8 - Maui

Enjoy a free day to discover Maui. Rise in the middle of the night to view a magnificent sunrise from aloft Haleakala, Maui’s sleeping volcano. Or spend the day at the beach. Big Beach, a vast sandy stretch, is often called THE beach on Maui. Ka’anapali Beach is a favorite for snorkeling because its black lava rock teems with coral, tropical fish and sea turtles. For a unique experience, walk along Oneuli Beach, a black sand beach made from the cinder from volcanic eruptions. For snorkeling enthusiasts, you’ll never forget this optional diving excursion to Molokini, an extinct volcano that is a State Marine Life and Bird Conservation District. Its crescent shape provides protection from waves and powerful currents, making it one of the top ten dive sites in the world. This afternoon, you may also opt to join a whale watching expedition (seasonal). Tonight, choose to partake in an optional Ulalena Show and Dinner, where you’ll enter a space of wonder and explore relationships between people, nature and mythology.

As its website says, what would normally take a lifetime to explore can be seen during one leisurely afternoon. This evening, join your group for a Farewell Lu’au Buffet Dinner and Show.
