Day 1 - Giza & the Pyramids
Your trip begins with a regularly scheduled overnight flight to Cairo aboard an internationally recognized airline.
Day 2 - Giza & the Pyramids
Welcome to Egypt! A Go Ahead representative greets you at the airport after you clear customs and then escorts you to your hotel in the Giza region. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 3 - Giza & the Pyramids
Your Tour Director, also a professional Egyptologist, is an expert in the history and anthropology of the regions on tour. Today, your Tour Director leads a fascinating tour of ancient Egypt. The Pyramids of Giza are the only “Wonder of the Ancient World” to have survived the modern era, and your guided sightseeing tour introduces you to the three pyramids here, including the stunning Great Pyramid of Cheops. Then visit the enigmatic Sphinx. Continue to Saqqara, the pharaohs’ royal graveyard for more than 3,000 years.

Day 4 - Giza & the Pyramids
Your Tour Director/Egyptologist leads a sight-seeing tour of Cairo. The city’s mosques, of which there are more than 500, display some of the finest examples of Islamic architecture in the world. Visit the Citadel and Mohammed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque. Built in the 12th century by mighty Salah el-Din, the Citadel was originally used as a fortress and was the residence of the Sultans until 1850. Also visit the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, which houses the famous masks of Tutankhamen. Join your group for an included lunch before free time, during which you may wish to roam through the winding streets and alleyways of the Khan-el Khalili Bazaar. Tonight, opt to join our Egyptian Folklore evening.

Day 5 - St. Catherine
This morning, transfer to Saint Catherine, a city located at the foot of Mount Sinai. This afternoon (or after midnight—you choose!), you’ll hike up Mount Sinai, also known as Moses Mountain, where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Dinner will be served either before or after your hike, depending on when you depart. (Please note: you can rent a walking stick and flashlight from your hotel.)

Day 6 - Aqaba
A UNESCO World Heritage Area, Saint Catherine is a relatively new city, created when Bedouin tribes decided to cluster around the monastery. Today, embark on a guided tour of Saint Catherine Monastery, the oldest continuously inhabited monastery in the world, which was built on the site where Moses talked to God at the Burning Bush. You’ll also see the monastery’s library, which has the largest religious collection after the Vatican. Afterwards, travel to Nuweiba—where Moses is thought to have crossed the Red Sea—for your own Red Sea crossing. Board a ferry for an hour-long transfer to Aqaba, where you’ll settle into your hotel before enjoying an included dinner.

Day 7 - Petra
Travel to Wadi Rum this morning, a protected area of desert wilderness in the south of Jordan where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. Huge sandstone and granite mountains tower over wide sandy valleys, while narrow canyons and fissures cut deep into the mountains. You’ll find many concealed ancient rock drawings, etched by the people of the desert. Bedouin tribes still live in these mountains, and you may catch a glimpse of their large, traditional tents. Later today, you’ll travel to your hotel near the stone city of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Day 8 - Petra
Discover Petra during a full-day guided tour of this ancient city. Traveling through a narrow gorge, you’ll visit a city lost to the outside world for centuries. Investigate its freestanding temples, tombs, dwellings and altars.

Day 9 - Dead Sea Region
Explore Madaba, the city of Mosaics, and St. George’s Church. Next, head to Mount Nebo, Moses’ burial place. Arrive later today at your resort on the Dead Sea.

Day 10 - Dead Sea Region
Enjoy a free day at your Dead Sea resort. This is the lowest place on Earth you’ll find dry land, and the waters of the Dead Sea are so salty that an adult can float with nearly no effort. Enjoy a relaxing day at the Dead Sea or opt to travel to the Greco-Roman city of Jerash, one of the largest and best preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world. Tonight enjoy an included dinner with your group.

Spend the day exploring the Greco-Roman city of Jerash, considered one of the largest and best preserved Roman sites outside Italy. Also referred to as Antioch on the Golden River, this ancient city was part of the Decapolis, a group of ten cities on the eastern frontier of the Roman Empire in Jordan, Israel and Syria. You’ll explore many of its most treasured monuments, including Hadrian's Arch, the Corinthian column, a circus/hippodrome, two temples of Zeus and Artemis and the oval-shaped Forum, which is surrounded by a fine colonnade.

This morning is free to relax at your Dead Sea resort. This afternoon, transfer to Amman for a Farewell Lunch and a sightseeing tour before your flight later this evening.
