Shopping

Lucerne
The Old Town is filled with shops. You’ll find several good department stores, with reasonable prices for most items, as well as pricy specialty shops. The flagship store of Switzerland’s best known watch and high-end jewelry dealer, Bucherer, is located in Lucerne.

Bern
As with most other cities in Switzerland, store opening and closing hours in Bern are strictly regulated but were slightly relaxed on January 1, 2007. All stores, including grocers, must close by 8pm from Monday to Friday. Once a week they are allowed to stay open until 10pm, but on Saturdays everything must close by 5pm. Stores are closed on Sundays. Rathausgasse and the streets parallel to it have many cute shops with a range of handicraft and luxury goods.

St. Moritz
St. Moritz is home to a famous gallery of fashion boutiques located along Via Maistras and stretches to Via Serlas, where the greatest concentration of haute labels can be found.
Dolce & Gabbanna, Gianni Versace, Cartier and Gucci are mainstays in this market.
Chocolate and champagne are the other specialty items featured prominently in stores.

Munich
The major shopping centers are City Center, Schwabing, Glockenbach and Maxvorstadt. In the City Center region, you will find an array of shops and stores selling brand products. The Schwabing features boutiques, jewelry shops, book stores and other small shops. Funky dress items and trendy shoes are available in large numbers. The Elisabethmarkt sells grocery items like fruits, vegetables and spices.
