Spring is a relatively “short” season, staying between 50ºF and 60ºF on average for March and April, with frequent clouds and rain.  May through September offer the best weather with temperatures ranging from the low 70s to the low 90s.

Salem, MA

Portland, ME
Portland has a long, cold winter between November and March, with temperatures in January averaging below 20ºF, and between 25ºF and 40ºF in November and March. From April to June, temperatures typically remain between 50ºF and 70ºF, and from July to August, the average temperature is around 70ºF–75ºF. September are a bit cooler ranging from the mid-50s to the mid-60s, and then in November it begins to cool down significantly.
