Beautiful scenery trip
2 full days on the bus, not good Needed more time in some places In Some hotels the restaurant was closed Don't mark suitcases with a marker! Please use a removal sticker Brand new bus but was not roomy enough, last trip we made bus had more room and the AC not working good enough BUT the Mt Pilatus optional was the best one ever!
ok
would like to have had more time in Frankfurt and add Berlin to the group of cities we saw. We liked all the stops.
Be prepared to lose weight
Food at the autobahn restaurants was best. Food at the hotels was barely(and sometimes not even that good) edible. My daughter basically lived on cucumbers, tomatoes, and cheese and lost 12 1/2 pounds. I was looking forward to german sausages, schnitzel, and we got chicken or pork in gravy with noodles. Meat was overdone, gravy was runny. and vegetables cold. The sights were great and the tour guide (director) was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Ioved Christian. Our bus driver was an excellent driver but it seemed he had never driven that tour route before. He did not know where he was going and Christian had to keep telling him where to turn and what highway to take. But boy could that guy maneuver that bus in some tight places.
Best of Central Europe:Germany, Switzerland & Aust
We could not of had a more perfect vacation. We left April 24th through May 8th. We wondered if it would be a little cool on this trip but the weather was 65-72 for the highs which was perfect. Our Tour Director Sacha Deegan was just wonderful. He was very informative and made sure that everyone understood everything and was having a good time. We felt he went above and beyond on his duties. We were well pleased with the food through out the tour. We had a nice variety and were adviced on places to go when the dinners were not included. I can not express enough the beauty of the countryside, churches and palaces. We enjoyed all of the cities on the Tour with my favorite being Salzburg. The history is so interesting and there is so much to see. This was our first bus tour and we cant wait to go again. We did not want this trip to end.
MY unbelievable Trip of a Lifetime
My experience with Go Ahead was , to say the least,,,,, WONDERFUL. Sacha,Our Go ahead tour Director , was knowledgeable, fun, thoughtful, considerate, polite and he went the extra mile to make everything wonderful. If I was to go on another TOUR I wouild definately go with Go Ahead and Sacha. Going on a Tour is the way to travel when in a foreign country. I can't say enough about my experience with Go Ahead and my favorite Go ahead tour director, Sacha D. thank you for a fabulous excperience.
very enjoyable!
Our tour director was wonderful.
Your Go Ahead Tour Director Sasha
After being on 4 Go Ahead tours, my husband and I have decided that two things make the tours memorable: The Tour Director and the people on the tour. I think Sasha deserves a 10 rather than the 5 we were limited to. All of the Go Ahead tour directors have been outstanding but Sasha was better than outstanding. Our companions on the tour were such characters that we could not help but have a great experience. Than, of course, there was scenery to die for, and history, art, architecture and culture lessons on a daily basis. In short we had a great time and feel that the tour was an outstanding value.
Best tour guide
Juergen, our tour guide was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful, he made sure that everyone felt comfortable and was having a good time.
Outstanding tour
It seemed quite a comprehensive tour to me, and Jurgen, our tour director, was amazing. So far all Go Ahead tour directors have exceeded expectations (Lisa in France in 2008 and Lara in Spain in 2009). We were a small group, only 14, and our little group began to seem like a family. Jurgen went out of his way to provide substitute side trips for those scheduled options that were closed due to weather or seasonal considerations. He was so considerate of those who had physical limitations. I feel as though there was little I missed in that stunningly beautiful part of the world. I have recommended Go Ahead to anyone who asks. This certainly won't be my last trip with Go Ahead.
First Guided Tour in Years
This is the first guided tour I've gone on in perhaps15 years. It was totally enjoyable. I hadn't been to Northern Europe before and was pleased with the food, wine and especially the beers. Our tour director was excellent too. He was extremely knowledgeable about the countries we visited, both historically, economically and socially. The places we visited were truly highlights of the region. Our hotels were truly centrally located to the cities we visited. My favorite was the Innsbruck.
