Excellent tour

This tour met our expectations. It was nice to visit small towns, the tour director was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a nice group of people traveling with us.

beautiful way to see Tuscany

We had been to Italy before and saw some of the big cities. On this tour, you see the old, walled cities, walking both the gorgeous countryside and the cities. A side of Italy most tourists do not see. A must!

Walking Tour of Tuscany

Great food, beautiful scenery and fascilnating history, architecture, and art in the cities and towns. This was a good overview of Tuscan history and culture so that we could return and see more indepth. The tour guide made the trip exciting, interesting, and gave us information about what to expect before we arrived at each destination. For a walking tour people need to make sure they understand that walking on various terrain and elevations could be challenging if you have medical issues. Wonderful trip!

Met my expectations

I loved the opportunity to see so much of Tuscany. Would have liked a little longer visit in Siena. The walks were great. Ending the trip in Rome was perfect. The midieval villiages then the tour of Rome gave us a nice contrast.

Super Trip

The trip was special in many ways, one that proved very special was the imprompt opera singing of our guide - David, who selected mountain and on the trail sites to regal us with his singing. Eat, Drink, Walk

This was our 5th Go Ahead trip & was a very unique one. The walking part of the tour was very well planned & varied with most of the walks ending with lunch. We all ate what we wanted & only gained a pound or 2 at most. We had been to Italy a few times & twice to Tuscany but this trip, because it focused on the villages of Tuscany, did not overlap other places we had visited. We highly recommend this trip!

Great Trip

Some of the walks were challenging, which I expected, and liked. I very much enjoyed the hills of Tuscany, and I loved the history of Rome. I would recommend this trip to any friends that are interested in going to Italy.

First Trip to Italy - Wonderful

Enjoyed the walking, as well as the acient art. The tour guide was everything that our leader promised. The city guides were very good as well.

A Trip Filled with Beauty

I liked the variety of places we went - countryside, small ancient towns, and vibrant cities. The chance to see all the wonderful art in these places is beyond belief, and the food and wine were great. Our tour guide David Macchi is the best! He gave us so much information to absorb, but also was very friendly and caring towards all of us on the tour. I would love to travel with him again. The tour can be a bit strenuous at times because of the distance to walk and the uneven and sometimes muddy roads,but nothing else can get you close to the real Tuscany. My husband and I felt comfortable in doing as much as we were able to do. We, in fact, did a lot more walking than I thought we could do.
