One of My Favorite Trips
Walking the Amalfi Coast was my eighth trip with Go Ahead and is one of my favorites. The variety of walks was excellent. The Path of the Gods was, by far, the most challenging hike I've been on but it was worth every sore muscle. The views are indescribable. The Mt. Vesuvius hike was also challenging but more that it was cold and windy rather than so difficult. Most of the other walks were just pleasant visits to towns, estates and gardens. You really need to be in shape to do the Path of the Gods walk. It is unique.
First trip with GAT
Amazing scenery! Well paced with optional free time. Highlights were the Path of the Gods hike, village walk and free day in Rome. Unfortunately it rained the day to see Capri. Very compatible group. Very knowledgeable tour guide. My next Italy trip will be the Walking tour of Tuscany with GAT.
Invigorating, exhilarating and fabulous
The Amalfi Coast is breathtakingly beautiful from every viewpoint. We enjoyed views not only from the tour bus but from high on the cliffs when hiking the Path of the Gods and from the Mediterranean Sea on our ferry to Capri and Ischia, where we even went swimming. Having six nights in Sorrento also allowed us the freedom to explore and visit several restaurants on our own in the evening. Our guide was helpful recommending restaurants and organised two wonderful lunches for the group which made it very convenient for our activities that day. We loved everything about this tour.
Bellissimo!
Fantastic scenery, interesting fellow travelers and a delightful tour director made for a great trip. I love Italy.
A Walking Tour of Italy's Amalfi Coast
This tour provided a variety of activities to do. The walks were challenging, yet breathtaking. The scenery was spectacular! We really liked how active we were on the entire trip. We felt as though we saw so many hidden gems, gardens, views, due to our knowlegable and experienced tour director. There were many favorites from climbing Mt. Vesuvius to exploring the ruins of Pompei, swimming in the Mediteranian, walking the Path of Gods, and strolling along Ischia and Capri. We highly recommend this tour, all the excursions and would like to visit the Amalfi Coast again!
WALKING TOUR OF THE AMALFI COAST
This is a fabulous tour; I highly recommend it. BUT it is very challenging. You need to be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain and be able to climb and descend hills and trails. You really need walking sticks for Mt. Vesuvios and the Path of Gods. If you don't it will be much more difficult, especially for the Path of Gods, which will hold back the whole group. I recommend taking all optional tours with the exception of the Tarantella Dinner and Show. The food was okay but the show went on way too long which was after a full day of walking in Ravello and Atrani. If you've seen one old-folk traditional dance, you've seen them all. The Amalfi coast is magical. If you like to walk, a lot, bring your good walking shoes, walking sticks and a lot of energy. It will be a trip of a lifetime.
Enjoy a blue (sky & sea) vacation in Amalfi
See the beautiful coastline, cross paths from villages to villages, enjoy history... Walking trip that you can find challenging, but you can do it! The "best" trip is an exploring adventure off the main paths and to enjoy Italy and the "soft" fresh air and the pizza! Capri was beautiful and we enjoyed the cruise around the island and visiting the town was a terrific "last" day. Our guide (as usual) made our trip the best!
My best trip and birthday ever!!
While the trip was challenging for me it was well worth the effort. I had the most wonderful time and the views were spectacular. It was what I needed to get back into exercise and get ready for the next trip.I was disappointed that The imperial Rome tour was canceled but had time to see the sights on my own. I traveled with my sister and a group of her running buddies. It was my Birthday gift to myself and the best gift ever!!
Most challenging & gorgeous ever!
From the tastiest Caprise Salads ever to impressive historical and natural phenomenons one could expect to see and experience made it a most enjoyable trip. We had a wonderful guide, so positive and outgoing and a great group of compatible people ----it was a real pleasure to share with.all.
Amalfi Coast With A Great Guide and No Glitches
Our trip of the Amalfi Coast began sept 26. Eight close friends joined the larger group of 21 in Napoli..We were met by our tour director, Katia..And she was phenomenal !! There were no glitches, with guides, tour buses, overland excursions. The scenery on the Amalfi Coast was no less than spectacular, as was the islands of Ischia and Capri. We drank Lemoncello and ate Mozzarella and great pizza The only time we felt it was too crowded was at the ruins of Pompeii.Apparently there were multiple cruise ships docked I highly recommend both this tour and our Director Katia
