Could be Better
.Loved Prague. Hotel was in a central location to walk to all the cites. The history of the city coming out of Communism was very interesting. Ildi did a magnificent job of explaining the past and present stage of the people and what they went through and what they are facing today. They building were interesting to see still in the conditions from the war. The bullets still showing in the buildings made it real. Enjoyed the last stop at the village on the way to Vienna. Vienna was my least favorite. Was not happy with the hotel location. It was in the business area which made it difficult to get to the real sites. Hotel staff did not know how to get to any of the places we wanted to see. A little strange for being close to the UN business center. Shopping not affordable. Loved Prague. The hotel was a big change from Vienna. Very helpful and across from the Metro station and easy to walk to the central town. Shopping great. Ghost tour at night was interesting. Learned a little more about the history of the city. Only an hour long of walking. I have difficult walking and I did it :-). Was airline Lufthansa, did not give even good service from Frankfurt to Budapest. Would not assist in finding a space for my carry on which was too big to go under my seat but insisted that I put it there and sit down. Rude, I have an injured foot that needs room to stretch out to not cause swelling and they did not care. The flight attended just argued with me which brought me to tears. Swiss air was worse on the flight home. Very small seats, one attended very rude. My seat had the remote to the TV mounted inside the arm rest and thr arm rest would not go up to give you more room. The mounting rubbed on my upper thigh for 12 hours and is still very tender and painful. When the person in front puts there seat back, forget it, less room and the the TV becomes out of focus. Go Ahead told us the the airlines had Economy Plus so we can upgrade which they do not. We could not log in to select seats. We were told to get exit row at the airport check-in and then was told we had to get them on-line. Go Ahead needs to select airlines with better customer service. For the amount of money spent for the trip, the service did not match up. Last complaint was that we should not have to pay for water on the bus
Great Trip Through Central Europe
We really enjoyed the "Vienna, Budapest, and Prague tour. We saw and did everything that we had expected to do and on several occasions our expectations were far exceeded. We were especially impressed when Paula, our tour director, on finding no English speaking guide available at Godolo Palace grabbed a German speaking guide and then proceeded to translate the guide's narrative into English for our group as we toured the palace. That was a great example of improvising and demonstrated her ability to think on her feet and improvise to take care of her people. This is a really good tour, but does include a lot of walking with a lot of steps. Just be sure that you are up to doing that before you decide to take it. However, once you do take it, you will be glad that you did.
Wonderful cities in Central Europe
I enjoyed the mix of structured and free time in these great cities. We did a lot of research in advance and enjoyed almost everything on our lists after participating in the half day overview provided by Go Ahead in each city..
Beautiful!
This was my very first GoAhead Tour, and at the recommendation of a friend, I decided to give it a try. VERY impressed. All 3 cities were absolutely beautiful -- full of breathtaking sights and rich history. Our tour guide was awesome -- very, very helpful and knowledgable. The only thing that really bugged me was the fact that Prague was extremely crowded -- not GoAhead's fault of course, but I just thought it's something worth mentioning. I would have enjoyed the city a lot more if there wasn't a hoard of people everywhere I turned. My recommendation -- take this tour during the off season (before May or after August) to avoid the crowd. Other than that, all 3 hotels were excellent (quality, cleanliness, and location). I've read many complains about the Budapest hotel and honestly, it's Europe and you only spend a fraction of your time in the room. Wasn't crazy about the central European food, but that's just me. Worth every dollar. The trip was stress free (GoAhead takes care of everything), and there's just the right mix of structured vs. free time so you can customize your experience. We really bonded with some people we met on the tour as well, so that's always a plus! I'd absolutely use GoAhead again AND recommend it to anyone without a second thought!

Amazing Trip
i loved this tour so much
Great Trip
I thoroughly enjoyed Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. The cities were beautiful and I liked that Go Ahead had free days as well as guided tours. The hotel in Budapest (Mercure Korona) was not so good -- small, dark room with no storage. The hotel in Vienna was nice (NH Belvedere) -- great breakfast. The hotel in Prague was OK -- close to the city center, but again no storage for clothes. I was very disappointed that the extension to Salzburg was canceled. Also, VERY disappointed that the optional concert was canceled. The concert in Vienna was fantastic!!!! Also, the cruise on the Danube in Budapest (wonderful!!!) and the cruise on the Danube in Vienna to Melk. Melk is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Constantine was a very knowledgeable guide.
Great trip!
A great schedule and plenty of free time. A beautiful trip!
Great trip!
This was a wonderful trip. Who knew that Budapest was such a beautiful city? I loved it there. Vienna was a bit overwhelming - there is so much to do and see and not enough time to do it all. It is also spectacularly beautiful. Prague was stunning, as expected, and even though it is overrun with tourists at this time of year it was still a lovely place to be. Of course, without a good guide any group trip is going to suffer. We were very lucky to have an excellent guide named Constantin who knew so much about this history of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire that he really brought everything alive for us. My favorite part of the trip, however, was the add-on to Salzburg. It's a beautiful little city sitting right next to the Alps. The setting is just spectacular. All-in-all it was a most enjoyable trip that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
