Wonderful Experience

Great trip for first timers going to Europe. Mama Mia what beautiful art. Excellent transportation and great hotels. Barbara, our guide, was a gem and hugely knowledgeable!

Good mix of tours and on your own time. Dinners were not very good, mediocre restaurants. OUr tour guide was very informative and helpful.

Art and History Tour

I learned so much about Italy's culture through the art and history. It is so different than the United States, much more exciting!

The hotels left a lot to be desired. The first hotel had flooding in the bathroom. The second hotel .... the beds were sheet covered boards. The third hotel had no a/c in the rooms. We were moved 3 times before we had a trickle of air. We would wake up at night dripping sweat. The third hotel had very rude desk people. Also we were extremely disappointed with our arrangements in Florence. My daughter had been on this tour with another company and they had made arrangements tor the Ufitzi Gallery and the Academia. Why else do you pay these amounts and don't get to see what the city is famous for.

Fantastic time in Italy

I traveled with 9 other family memebers and this was our first time to Italy. A trip we have dreamed about taking for years. We wanted a tour, but we also wanted to have free time available to us to explore on our own. Go Ahead was perfect for this. Booking with them we recieved some guided tours and then we had the option to do additional tours or explore on our own. We loved having the frredom to decide. Our tour guide Misia was wonderul and extremly helpful in assisting us with any additional information. The hotels were fine, not a 5 star rating, but they were clean and comfortable. The meals that were included were also fine, but again nothing to write home about. Travel from place to place was well planned and it was wonderful not to worry about the details. The additional guides when touring the sites were all extremely well informed on their material and they were all fantastic. I do believe Go Ahead does have wonderful tour guides. Overall our trip was wonderful and left us with many fond memories to cherish.

Really good trip

The tour was very interesting and eye opening to see how different cultures live. The food in Italy was perfect and I can't say that I will ever be able to eat at an Italian restuarant in the states again. Definitely worth going for just the food!

Checked off the 'Bucket List'

This was our first organized tour, and we can say that it exceeded all expectations! The planning, organization, transportation, tickets to sites, etc. were all taken care of so that we could expend our energies enjoying the sites, and absorbing the rich history, art and Italian culture. We loved the combination of organized side tours, general walking tours to get us oriented in each city, and then plenty of free time to wander on our own. David M. is an amazing man, and tour director! He was warm, organized, efficient,extremely knowledgeable, and so helpful every step of the way.

Venice, Florence and Rome

Our trip was everything we expected and more. Our Tour Director Valerio must be one of Go Ahead Tours best! He was personable, knowledgeable and always helpful. On our free days he was a great resource in assisting us to ensure we achieved our goals and made the most of our experience. This was our first escorted tour, we have always traveled independently in the past and had some fears about being in a large group herded around like cattle or spending long periods on a bus, but those fears never materialized. Our group was only 17. After a few days it was like traveling with family or good friends. What also appealed to us was all the free time to explore on our own or in more depth areas of our interest. It was truly the best of both worlds. We would highly recommend Go Ahead Tours!

Let the Tour Guide do the work

I had a wonderful time bonding with my daughter on our recent trip. The best part of this trip (since I'm not an experienced traveler) is that the Go Ahead Tours and the Tour Guide did all the hard work. All I had to do was enjoy the sights. I also liked that there was ample time to go off on our own and expericence the wonders by ourselves. I felt confident and comfortable during the whole trip and wasn't sick with worry that I had booked something wrong or didn't know where i was going. Thanks Go Ahead Tours.

Italy Was Amazing!

My wife and I just returned a few days ago from the Venice, Florence, and Rome tour. It was a wonderful vacation and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The three major cities were everything that one could hope for - beautiful art and architecture, enthralling history, friendly people, and delicious food. Our tour director, Misia Massa, is a superstar! She was exceptionally well-organized and hard-working, made sure that everything happened on schedule and without a hitch, and was very patient with a large group of travelers(42 of us in all.) She was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and gave good commentary, laced with just enough humor to keep us all laughing. She did a top-notch job. Our local guides were also very good - they knew their areas and were a wealth of historical and cultural information. We took several of the options available on this tour; they were both fun and educational. This is the kind of vacation to take - we had to worry about nothing except having a good time.
