Unique & Fun Spa Trip
A friend invited me to accompany her on the Tuscan Spa Week. I had never traveled with a tour group, always preferring to strike out on my own. Interestingly 16 women from 4 different states (no husbands or signficant others) had signed up for this tour at this time! It was delightful and lots of fun as we made new friends and celebrated with old friends, especially after hours on the hotel's rooftop deck! What I most appreciated was the variety of the offered side tours (Loved Lucca, Cinque Terra was heaven to me travelling by boat on the cobalt Mediterranean) and the willingness of our tour guide, Barbara, to listen to the group's desires and try to fulfill them. My favorite thing about this tour was that we stayed in one hotel and did not have to change hotels throughout the tour. This allowed us to soak up the wonderful little towns of Montecatini Terme and Montecatini Alto --restaurants, shopping, gelato shops, historical points of interest and oh, the Opera!! Because of our central location we could travel a half hour to an hour in any direction to experience the fullness and richness of Northern Italy. And we did!! The spas are definitely European and I enjoyed experiencing some of the more unique offerings (hydro massage and cold mud pack) in these Italian spas. The Carousel's night lights and the red funiculare that connected Terme to Alto are special memories of this enjoyable trip.
Beautiful Tuscany
Our tour director, Gabriella, made this trip exceptional. The spa was fabulous and the staff there was so accomodating. The excursions to the hill towns and Florence were so enjoyable. The scenery was spectacular and our meals were wonderful.
Wonderful Trip
My husband and I enjoyed our daily time at the spa.
Experiencing spa days Italian style!
This trip was just as close to heaven as one can get on earthly soil! Our director, Sabra, surprised us with regional specialties each day; the spa experience was totally out of this world from the scenery surrounding the thermal pool to the delicious aromas in therapy, the awesome Grotto, and the expertise of those administering the treatments. I would go again tomorrow! The optional excursions were icing on the cake!
Amazingly restful in a gorgeous setting
My sister and I joined a small group of women from our hometown for the Tuscan Spa Tour. It was absolutely the most fun vacation I have ever taken. I have traveled in Italy several times, so it was a real pleasure to be able to linger in one of the most beautiful parts of the country for a leisurely indulgent time in Montecatini Terme and Alto without feeling as if we had to travel afar every day to see all the sights. The luxurious hours spent by the pool and in the thermal waters at the spa were absolutely soul refreshing. The spa treatments were invigorating, and the company was beyond compare. Our guide Barbara fit right in with our group of women seeking a great time away from home responsibilities and cares. Each day ended with great fun sitting in the hotel roof garden reliving the experiences and sharing the wine and food collected each day for our midnight happy hour. This was truly the specialty trip of a lifetime. I love traveling the world with my dear husband of many years, but this girlfriend trip made a lifetime memory. Thanks for the memories, Susan Bennett Decatur, Georgia
LOVED IT!!
This was my fourth tour and my favorite. Our group was fun and easy to travel with and our director was the best. She made the trip even more special by providing personal touches and activities whenever she could. The spa was beautiful and some treatments were new to me (hot mud, hydro massage, grotta).
A trip I would like to repeat in a few years.
A great woman's trip. Great mother/ adult daughter trip.
Tuscan Spa Tour--absolutely wonderful!
My wife and I had a wonderful time on the Tuscan Spa Tour. We did all the optional tours, so we had a perfect mix of seeing sites in Tuscany and relaxing at the spa. The Grotto Guisti spa is amazing--massages, facials, relaxing in the thermal pool, spending time in the warm grotto, your own private changing room. It felt luxurious and special. We liked staying in the relaxed atmosphere of Montecatini, and using that as a base for day trips, as opposed to changing hotels all the time. We visited Lucca, Florence, the Cinque Terre, San Gimanango, and Pisa. Often the days were split between site seeing and spa relaxing. We loved, loved, loved this trip and highly recommend it.
Grotto Guisti, Cinca Terre, and more . . .
I fell in love with Tuscany, especially Montecatini, several years ago when I took the Walking Tour of Tuscany. Spending an entire week in Montecatini, however, visiting the town's spas, taking day trips to Cinca Terre and Pisa . . . all this topped off by luxurious spa treatments at the fabulous spa at Grotto Guisti . . . what's not to love? This trip came close to eclipsing my first tour. I've been highly recommending it to my friends not only for the value, but for the wonderful health benefits. My body never felt so good!
Benvenuti, welcome !(to a wonderful adventure)
The Tuscan Spa Week Tour was a wonderful experience. The spa, Grotto Giusti, was lovely. The staff and director of The Hotel Minerva Palace were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Our tour director, Sabra was outstanding. Montecatini Terme is an attractive, upscale spa town with many spas, shopping and excellent restaurants, all very close to the hotel. The tour was well-paced with free time to explore on your own, if you wished. The tour also included day trips to charming Cinque Terre, lovely Lucca, Florence, dinner in sweet Fiesole, Pisa, etc. Seeing a magical merry-go- round with its colorful lights, at night in the park and taking the funicular up the mountainside to Montecatini Alto, where you can have a delightful lunch and magnificant views, are wonderful memories.I highly recommend this tour for the first time traveller and the well-travelled.
