Outstanding!!!

I was really impressed with all the history in Turkey. Our tour director, Mehmet, made it all come alive. He was extremely informative and knowledgeable. It is a beautiful country and the people were so nice. The food was excellent. Hot air ballooning over Cappadocia was a highlight. Istanbul is a truly amazing city: the old and modern, and so clean!! Some of the bus rides are long but it is a great way to see the country.

Grand Tour of Turkey

This was an amazing tour - and we had an exceptional guide. We were provided with a complete history of Turkey - its culture, religion, politics, etc. It was fabulous and felt like a university course...all the while seeing the spectacular sites of an amazing country. Everyone on the tour really appreciated his wonderful stories and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. However, there was one major problem: the hotel we stayed in for two nights in Kusadasi. It was filthy, did not have proper service, and I had the worst case of food poisoning I have ever had. I was crippled with sickness for two full days and thank God there was a doctor on the trip who was able to get Cipro for me - otherwise I would have had to go home. Buffet dinners for tourists should not be served on GoAhead tours - especially in Turkey.

Grand Tour of Turkey

This was my first experience traveling internationally and with Go Ahead Tours and I could not have asked for a more wonderful trip! History was brought alive by our tour director, Mehmet, and the ruins/sites we visited were simply amazing. Turkey has such an incredible history and the places you visit are incredible. The people in our group were so much fun and I was a single traveler but I never lacked for company. Overall it was an amazing experience and I am looking forward to taking more trips!

Wonderfully exotic

Turkey is exotic, but we felt very safe. The people are nice, the ancient history and sites are awe inspiring, and we loved the mosques. The food was great, too. We are so glad we took this tour, and would love to return. The people that tour with us at GoAhead continue to amaze and inspire us. I always find a new best friend. The group's attitude and shared life experience just add to tour. So, be sure and bring extra money and get your head straight to use it. You will want to shop and bring home Turkish goods like silk, carpets, leather goods, spices, jewelry and pottery. The prices are excellent and the products irrisistible. It is my one regret that I did not have my head straight to buy the prices I now wish I had. Be sure to ask about hot air balloons in Cappadoccia and GO!

Turkey - Where East Meets West

A facinating experience...from the sights, the sounds, the history, the culture, the food and the people. Our tour director, Mehmet Cabuk is excellent and makes his beloved country come to life with sharing his knowledge about the history of Turkey. All of my fellow intrepid travelers in our group were fantastic! We will all share the memorable experiences we had on this adventure of a lifetime. Turkey is an intruiguing destination. A definite "must do".

A Feast for the Eyes

Our trip to Turkey far exceeded our expectations. Starting and ending in Istanbul, a city of modern and ancient highlights, we covered about 2000 miles in the two weeks of this tour but there is so much to see that even the bus rides were informative. Every day was filled with history and beauty as we visited the ancient ruins of Greece and Rome that dot this landscape. Our tour director obviously loved his country and was so well informed that we came home with a much better understanding of Turkey and its people. Some tours are labeled as 'A Taste of ...' but this is definitely a Feast of Turkey! Don't miss it.

Turkey- Land of the friendly people - October 2012

The views traveling the mountain roads were breathtaking. The ancient cities and places were amazing it would be hard to select a favorite, they were all remarkable. My fellow travelers were a great bunch and we certainly had a lot fun together. Suleiman (our tour director) was awesome. His English perfect, his knowledge of Turkey great, and wonderful personality to match. Although not part of the tour I recommend during your free time in Istanbul going to the Archaeological Museum, right next to Topkapi Palace, it's so rich in ancient sculptures and artifacts, one could spent hours there. Also I suggest adding to the name of the tour "The Land of the Friendly People"as the Turkish people are simply just that.

Grand Tour of turkey

We found this an extremely well planned and well organised tour. We especially wanted to mention how excellent our Turkish Guide, Seljuk, was in every way. His knowledge was great, his English was excellent and in every way he was a very kind and considerate person. May we suggest that the hot air Balloon Ride over Cappadocia become an option. Also the tour of Aphrodisiac should if possible be an included tour as it was so good.

Trip of a lifetime

I've always wanted to go to Turkey, because of it's diverse history and culture. And it was everything I expected and so much more. From the Blue Mosque to the Hagia Sophia they were both breathtaking and unbelieveable. All the people I met were very friendly and welcoming. Turkey is such a vibrant and colorful country. From the lush settings in the North to the mountainous regions in the South. Such different incredible bodies of water. I thoroughly enjoyed Troy and the wonders of Ephesus and also the underground city. Our tour director Mehmet is such an incredible person. The history and the culture he taught us was amazing. He added so much to an already incredible experience. It wouldn't have been the same without him. I met some amazing people in my tour group who I plan on staying in touch with. I can highly reccomend this tour for anyone who wants an adventure. There was never a dull moment. The shopping was also incredible. Bargaining with the merchants always gets you a good deal. I can't wait to go back in the very near future. Mehmet was always a step ahead, everything was always arranged at our next destination when we arrived. He had everything timed out perfectly. The breathtaking wonders of Turkey is not to be missed.

This was the best trip we have taken so far. We were blown away by the beauty of Turkey, especially Cappadocia. The people were so friendly and helpful, and the natural beauty is unbelievable . Our Guide Mehmet Cabulk really was the icing on the cake. He made everything come alive with his coments on what we saw and the history of the country. He was so nice. We really enjoyed this trip and hope to take more. Oh, and the food was wonderful. Shirley
