Seville, Madrid and Barcelona
I somehow misplaced the formal evaluation sheet for Africa Palacios, our tour guide, and was unable to turn it in. I especially want you to know that she was absolutely wonderful, taking care of her tour participants in every way possible. She was very capable, efficient, friendly to all, not to mention funny and entertaining. Her information about the places we visted was always informative and she answered inquiries efficently. Africa has remarkable people and organizational skills and excels in every way in her attention to detail in fulfilling her responsibilities to her tour participants. I would love to take a tour with her again in the future.
A good value
Very nice tour and director was one of the best we have had. Lots of walking on uneven gobble stones. Most of the hotels were centrally located. The dinner at the first hotel in Seville was quite mediocre but the others were great. Tour to Toledo was well worth the money.
A trip to remember
All the cities we visited were absolutely wonderful. I personally like smaller cities with a lot of charm and character, so I was delighted with Seville, Cordoba, and Toledo. My husband loves museums and cities with history and he loved Madrid and Barcelona (so did I by the way). We had a very enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable guide (Africa) assigned to us for the duration of our trip. She made sure everyone in our group was well taken care of and happy. She organized an extra paella dinner for anyone who was interested for example. She also was very good at helping a gentleman in our group whose passport and money was stolen. She accompanied him to the American consulate and helped him file a report at the police station. She was very diligent, and did everything with a smile. We had other guides throughout the trip to guide us through city tours and museum. They were extremely knowledgeable and also very friendly. My husband and I especially loved our guide (Ines) in Madrid. She gave us a wonderful tour of the Prado and the Palace, giving a lot of excellent information on various paintings and many fun anecdotes. Our hotels were all very adequate, and very well located in all the cities we visited. They all had a most wonderful breakfast buffet. It was great to start the day that way! My husband and I strongly recommend the Toledo excursion and the Spanish dinner with the students. Toledo is absolutely gorgeous and well worth visiting. It was a definite highlight of our trip. We also loved the Spanish student dinner. The restaurant was charming (we ate in a wine cellar) and the student played wonderful songs, and were also able to do songs on request. They were very talented and very charismatic. It was a delightful evening that we will not forget!
Great tour
Tour of Seville, Madrid, and Barcelona was well organized. The additional excursions to Cordoba, Toledo and Montserrat were exceptional. Our tour guide, Afrika Palacios, was outstanding!
An Exciting Taste of Spain!
The additional trip to Toledo was fascinating and truly immersed you into Spanish culture. Perhaps the Sunday could have been better planned to avoid disappointment with many closings. Our tour director, although very personable, could have been more attentive to specific issues that arose during the trip. I would have appreciated more historical background as well e.g. history of flamenco.
A Lovely Tour of Spain
This tour is for the traveler who is interested in seeing many of the highlights of Spain.
Good tour
I liked the guides & free time & hotels Suggestions. We were 3 people & the Barcelona room had a sleep sofa for 3rd bed & it was awful! We lost 8 hours in layovers going to Spain & had litlle baggage service-which bothered a few people
Amazing Trip
I had so much fun on this trip. I fell in love with Spain because of the food, arcitecure, and people. I did ever exersion and it was well worth it. My dream now is to someday move to Madrid!
Great Taste of Spain
I have done at least ten other tours with other companies and found Go Ahead to be as good as any of them. The tour appealed to me because it was on the short side, hit the main places I wanted to go, and was very affordable, plus it used high speed trains for transferring between cities which was much preferable to the traditional tour bus. The tour guide was great - lively, informative, friendly, and helpful. The Toledo side trip was fantastic and the "Tuna" Dinner was definitely a treat. The Flamenco evening not so much, but I don't like buffets. Great country, great people, great cities, great tour.
Good city focus
We liked the group, tour director, food etc but better make your own air reservations. We lost a day due to 8 Hours of lay overs!!!
