Educational trip

Denmark days were best because of amount of free time. Tallinn and St. Petersburg optional tours were most interesting. The long bus trip from Helsinki was the least pleasant part of the trip. Would have rather paid a little extra to take the ferry. The overnight curises were a good break in the otherwise hectic pace.

First w/ Go Ahead

Overall an excellent trip. Tour leader was well informed, personable and bonded very well with the group. Copenhagen local tour and guide was great as was Tallin local tour and guide. Stockholm local tour and guide was fine, needed more time in Vasa museum. Oslo tour and guide needs review. Fjord/Flam train was outstanding. Both overnight cruise accomodations were fantastic. All meals provided with the tour were plentiful and tasty.

Scandinavia adventure

Overall the trip was amazing!! The most beautiful natural scenery in Norway and Tallinn in Estonia and St. Petersburg in Russia are beautiful cities with so much to see and do. Loved Copenhagen and Stockholm too. The extension to Russia was worth every penny. The trip was very challenging as far as getting from country to country especially with 40+ people on the tour; it's just too many people. Some of the bus accomodations were less than comfortable. Buses with seats facing backward, make no sense. Per, our tour director, was great and very accomodating with all the people on the tour; we would definitely take a tour with him again. Overall, I would recommend this trip to anyone that is up for a fast-paced, long trip; loved every minute of it!!

Wonders of Nature

The Fjord Region, with its voluminous, cascading waterfalls, truly portrayed a picture postcard scene. Beautiful. Also the ferry trip from Stockholm to Helsinki gave tourists another beautiful dimension of nature with the hundreds of islands everywhere.

A lot to see, not enough time

Flight itinerary - good Cruise itinerary - good Hotel accomodations - good, except for Laerdal, Lindstroem Hotel, rooms and bathrooms not clean(mold and mildew). Helsinki - Sokos Hotel Aleksnateri, clogged drain in shower - management would not repair after repeated requests. Tour director was great. Optional excursions were good except for Roskilde and Dragor. Roskilde Cathedral guided tour was too long. 1/2 hour, unguided, would be fine. Not sure why Dragor was chosen. Not much to see or do. Bus trip from Helsinki to St. Petersburg was a disaster. Bus was filthy. It had not been cleaned after one or more of the previous uses. The bathroom was locked and unusable because the waste tank had not been emptied after the previous trip. Do not use this operator again. Per T. is a great tour guide. Always available when needed.

See a lot of countries

Each country had something different to offer. The Estonia excursion was well worth it. The fjords were beautiful.

Not the best trip ever

Thanks to our tour guide this was an interesting trip and I'm glad I took the journey. The negatives were that we spent too many hours sitting on buses, and had too many days where we only received one meal. The cost of meals in Scandinavia are very high - thus the lower overall rating for this trip.

Scandinavia: Capitals to the Fjords

This trip is quite active so I would make sure any travelers are aware of a lot of walking, stairs, etc. Our group had several people who had difficulty navigating the steps and walking at the pace of the group. the tour director was outstanding - Per Tossander. He made the tour what it was. The hotels were all excellent except for the one at the fjords but I think that may have been the only one available. The overnight ferry trips were terrific - smooth and lovely. The included dinners were all excellent. The optional excursions that we took were excellent as well. The only issue was the transportation from Oslo to St Petersburg (an optional 3 day extension). If it is by bus, do NOT take it - the advertised 6 hour bus ride was over 10 hours, awful dirty smelly bus, very uncomfortable and my wife developed a blood clot as a result and is not on blood thinners. She is very healthy, exercises daily and has not taken any medications - so this is highly unusual for her to develop any health issue. It is a direct result to the bus because it occurred within 36 hours of the bus ride.

Really Enjoyable

Great value but too much walking. Certain hotels not centrally located. Laerdal beautiful but boring. Absolutely nothing to do or find something to eat. Could have used another day in Oslo. Cabin on first ferry too small. On the plus side, tour director fantastic. Tour group was great. Local guides provided interesting info, clearly and precisely. Well organized and enjoyable.
