Wonderful way to see northern Europe

This tour visited the capitols of Scandinavia with excellent optional excursions. The tour director was knowledgeable and fun. The fjords were breathtaking-a spiritual experience. I had a wonderful time. This was my third tour with Go Ahead and I"m planning my next one!

Don't Drink the Water (In St. Petersburg)

The Scandinavia: Capitals to the Fjords tour was outstanding! Tour Director Per Torssander was fun, informative and meticulous in keeping our large group just where we needed to be. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia exceeded our expectations with their beautiful scenery, clean, well designed cities, parks and public spaces and high standard of living. We wished we could have stayed longer to see more. We extended our tour to include St. Petersburg, Russia. Here our Russian Tour Director Timofy superbly provided us the historical context for what we were seeing. In contrast to the Scandinavian countries high quality of life, Russia seemed like a 3rd world country struggling to overcome its many challenges, among them a contaminated water supply. In spite of a rigorous schedule of changing countries every few days and walking on rough cobblestones throughout, we think this is a marvelous tour. Just don't drink the water in St. Petersburg.

An excellent trip. One of a lifetime! Stellar Tour Guides, great food, good hotels, lots of history, culture and beauty...both nature (Norway Fjords and countryside) and built (Palaces and Cathedrals) 6 countires with 6 different currencies but a common language of speaking American English! For any traveler, a must trip!

Fulfilled a dream trip

This trip was wonderful in so many ways. Beating the Texas heat, seeing parts of the world I never thought I'd see and visiting the city (Olso) where my grandmother was born topped the list. Standing on Russian soil with all of the history and mystery was really exciting. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat. I just wish I could have stayed two or three extra days in each location, but I have wanderlust and would love the opportunity to take longer trips.

Great trip

Our tour guide Frank seemed to know everything about the places we were visiting as well as seemingly mundane things that made it easier for traveling (the closest ATM, where to go after getting on the night ferry, the best spot to get "real local food"). He was amazing! The tour was delightful and I'd love to come back and spend some more time in Scandinavia! My son and I had a great tour!

Exceeded expectations

The city tours were excellent- comprehensive with superb guides. I would recommend only 2 optional excursions: to Tallinn and Palace of Petrodvorets. Definitely include the extension to St. Petersburg. Applying for a Russian visa is a difficult and expensive process. Coupled with the long coach ride (9 hours) from Helsinki to St. Petersburg, it makes more sense for Go Ahead to make this journey into a cruise. But the palaces, canal boat ride, Swan Lake ballet and the city itself were fantastic, which makes St. Petersburg a must. Use your free time in Copenhagen to use the HopOn HopOff harbor boat and bus service: a relatively inexpensive and also fun way to explore the city. Spend your time in Stockholm walking around quaint Gamla Stan.

Scandinavia: Capitals to the Fjords

Many more water experiences than we expected and we loved that! We thought that we had great value for our cost - hotels, travel connections, and several included meals. A great vacation.

Scadinavia, fjords and St. Pete

Trip was great, but very costly! All buses need to be air-conditioned. Up-grades for rooms on boats need to be available. More VISA help from people who know what they are talking about is greatly needed.

Baltic Overview

Saw a lot. Learned a lot. Weather was great. Easy going. Could walk to everything or sit a spell and let others walk while you observed. Could pick your own level of participation.
