Beyond Our High Expectations!

It was an incredible experience in every way. Our leader, Frank, was great -- knowledgeable, competent and fun to be with, our hotels were excellent and varied, we saw everything we had hoped to see and more. And having compared many other companies before we went, I know that the value was super. Taking another Go Ahead Tour in October and can't wait!

Great Trip

The extension to Victoria Falls was disappointing until we hired the tour guide to take us to Zimbabwe, that is where the real falls is. Well worth the extra effort to get there. (time of year might have something to do with it, we went in October) South Africa was great. All the hotels were very good except for Cape Town. The food was really good. The tour had a good mix between seeing animals and breathtaking scenery. I was happy that we went to places not on the tour agenda. We went bunji jumping and rode on an elephant. Excellent!! I love meeting new people and we also went with a friend we met on an other GoAhead Tour!

Unforgetable Experience

I enjoyed this trip more than I can ever express. From seeing the "Big Five" the first day in Kruger National Park, to the giraffes and zebras roaming free on our resort, to walking on the sand along the beautiful sea coast at Pt. Elizabeth, to the ostrich races on the ostrich farm and seeing them running free along the highway, to the baboons visiting with us at our lunch going to Cape Good Hope where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet and visiting the townships....what an opportunity! My favorite town of the trip was Nysna, an absolutely gorgeous resort town with the most gracious people I have ever met. It was packed with an amazing adeventure I could have never imagined!

Needs some work

Tour guide allowed unusual stops like a 2 hour stop fpr bugi jumping. This was not on the itinery and was a special interst for a small group of people. The stop put us hours behind schedule and we had less time at a place I wanted to spend time. Too many people. It became a battle of the canadians vs everyone Single people against eveyone for seats ...and so forth Scenery was great .

Perfect Introduction

Four Buddies and I went to South Africa and Zambia in March 2010 on the South Africa Discovery Tour. The Zambia-Victoria Falls Pre-Tour Extention was simply outstanding, a good value, and a great way to start your trip. The South African experience was magnificent; full of wonderful people filled with energy to build a bright future. We found it easy to share the enthusiasm and euphoria for the FIFA World Cup scheduled for June & July. The game drives in the different National Parks and Private Game Reserves were exciting and fun we were brought up close to many different wild animals and birds; most special of these was seeing the Big Five in their natural surroundings. The Elephant Sanctuary at Knysna was a delight; the hospitality of the staff and being able to interact with these gentle giants topped off a perfect day. With a Travel Pace of 4 for this tour; I felt the challenges were the flights to and from South Africa. Go Ahead Tours provided an outstanding African experience, at a very good value, with excellent Customer Service.

Tour Cut Short by Illness

LOved Zambia, have often been to VVictoria Falls, but always from Zimbabwe. Love the Zambezi Sun's location, walked down to the Falls witin minutes of arriving. Unfortunatley got a bad kidney infection and could not continue rest of Tour, Frank my guide was wonderful.

Wonderful trip to South Africa

I enjoyed this tour very much. Our tour guide, Frank, met us at the airport with a sign in his hand which I really appreciated after the long flight from Washington D.C. Our group was small which gave everyone a chance to get to know each other. The pre-trip to Zambia was well worth the money and I enjoyed it also. Our hotels were good and the food was very good. You will not go hungry on this trip!Each day brought more sightseeing opportunities and just the right amount of free time to be on your own. South Africa is beautiful and the people were warm and friendly. I really felt like I got my moneys worth on this trip. I don't know how GoAhead did this trip for this price. If you have thought about taking this trip I would say go now with GoAhead. You won't find a better deal!!
