Great, fun trip!
Fun trip! Got to see so much of Italy. Loved the entire experience. Hotels and included meals are the only area I feel could use some improvement.
Great trip
Great trip, the ancient ruins and historical sites were wonderful. The challenge is the walking on the ancient uneven surfaces and stairs.
Wonderful trip to Italy
I especially enjoyed the variety of experiences in Italy. We saw the coast in Sorrento and Capri and then toured the Vatican and Rome. The wine tour to Cefalu was very interesting and very filling with a five course dinner of delicious food. The island of Sicily offered a real taste of Italy with shopping and the harbor at Palmero. I really enjoyed our time in Toarmina, especially since Mt. Etna erupted while we were there. The small cafes and restaurants were more like the Italy I pictured.
Found: A New Love, Taormina!
Could not have had more fun or experienced a more exciting tour of discovery. From the first day touring the Isle of Capri, throughout our exploration of the ruins of Pompeii, the glory that once was Rome, and finally the town of Taormina on the eastern coast of Sicily. The shops, the food, and the spectacular view of the coast with Mt. Etna rising in the background made Taormina the best part of a great journey.
Italian Trifecta
Three different views of Italy, Sorrento with the sea breezes, Capri and Pompeii, Rome with the ancient ruins and the modern nightlife, and Sciliy with seascapes of Taormina and the snows on Mount Etna. Enjoyed all of it. Two down sides Accommodation in Rome were very good but not convenient to the down town area Palermo was not a pleasant stay, I would have preferred more time in either Sorrento or Taormina.
Not too litte, not too much - JUST RIGHT!!!
My second trip with Go Ahead was an interesting combination of amazing sites, lost luggage, and wonderful people. Through no fault of Go Ahead, I was without luggage for the first 4 days, so my attitude by the fourth day was anything but happy. However, my wonderful tour director, Raf, took it upon himself to take me (and the entire bus!) to pick up my missing luggage at the Naples airport. And from there, the trip just got better and better. I adore Italy and now I adore Taormina, Sicily, too. I am planning a student trip with EF Tours, and I will definitely travel with Go Ahead again. Next time, I'll take extra clothes in my carry on!
returning to Italy
We picked this tour because we wanted to see the southern portion of Italy. We toured Northern Italy and Rome 32 years ago. Raf the tour guide made the trip fun but his knowledge of world history made it a learning experience. The hotels and food were all 5 star as were the people that were in our tour
Sorrento, Rome & Sicily
We had a wonderful time on this trip. Rachel is an excellent tour director. She is very concerned that everything goes smoothly and that everyone feels involved. We thouroghly enjoyed being with her.
Torna Sorrento
This tour of Southern Italy and Sicily is perfect for anyone returning to the land of vino and pasta, or for first timers. The tour captures four great cities with two days in each. It takes in the best sites while giving a choice of free time or optional packages. The tour director was fabulous. The guides at each destination were excellent. I strongly recommend this tour.
Amazing first trip to Italy
Our tour director Rachel was the best! It was a fairly fast paced tour, but for the first Italy trip, i got to see absolutely everything i wanted. The arrangements all went smooth, no lost luggage and the sights were to die for. Now that i have seen Rome i would likely not go back, and i would have liked to skip Palermo all together and either spend more time in Sorrento or Taormina. It was a great first tour! Next stop Greece!
