Great Trip!

This was a wonderful trip , filled with so many beautiful memories. We had a terrific tour director, Vanessa. She was so knowledgeable and took very good care of us. The hotel was nice and centrally located. We went on all the optional excursions and loved them all. I highly recommend this tour.

Paris was magnifique!

The next best thing to being in Paris, was our guide Patrick Long. He was knowledgeable, flexible, generous, funny, and a pleasure to be with. The bus and walking tours were great, and Giverny is not to be missed. The only drawback was being rushed through Versailles, but even that was understandable. Will definitely take another Go-Ahead tour!

Excellent choice

Excellent experience. Hotel set up for twin travelers. Appreciated the amenities in the room, view, breakfast, attention by hotel staff, cleanliness, and quiet but friendly atmosphere. Host and tour guides were detailed and answered every question graciously. Plan to visit again with family next time.

A relaxing revisit to Paris

Having been to Paris once before and queing up for the " must see" sights, we wanted to just roam around with no strong schedule and absorb the the city. Go Ahead city stay was perfect for this. While planned side trips were available, so was the option to be on your own. I found the Go Ahead price close to what I would have paid for similar air and accomadations, with the added convenience of AP transfers, breakfast, hotel vetted by the GA staff and ofcourse our city stay rep. Our rep, Patrick, was perfect for us. He had preprinted local area maps, some suggested restaurants, and the location of the 3 metro (subway) stations near the hotel. He took all interested on a mission to learn the Metro, ticket purchase, destination & direction etc.. We only took a taxi in the rain. The area around the hotel was loaded with trendy little cafes and bistros. I found the French people to be much more friendly and "chatty" than on visits years ago, and having a rep and other US travelers to talk with at the end of the day was much better than being in a hotel "by ourselves"

Paris City Stay

My husband and I enjoyed the Paris City Stay. We liked the idea of being on our own for most of the tour. We could set our own pace and see what we wanted to see. Our tour director was EXCELLENT. He would help us with directions, tickets and registrations.

first time

this was my first time with Go Ahead tours and I must say it was great. Our tour director was Patrick and he was amazing. Very knowledgeable and caring. The best thing about the tour for me was that I was able to plan to do or see places on my own and had plenty of time to so. I was also able to join group activities if I wanted and I did partake in a few excursions. I am planning to use Go Ahead for another trip this time to Italy in 2014.

a dream come true

My husband and I have been wanting to visit Paris and choosing this tour was the best ever.! Patrick Long the Paris host is awesome. Resourceful, organized and just lots of fun. We were reluctant to do a Paris trip totally independent so this tour fit our needs perfectly. We took the Versaille and dinner/Seine optional trips and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel, Mercure at Montparnasse is excellent. I've never stayed in a hotel so quiet with such comfy beds. Having 3 Metro stations with a variety of restaurants nearby also helpful. And if you're a little budget conscious having Monoprix (like Target but with a huge grocery store) 5 minutes away is great. We enjoyed this so much we are considering the London city tour next year!

Paris City Stay

We bought at least 3 maps to use. We did not need any of them as Go Ahead offered an awesome map, complete with metro details in our info packet when we arrived. Monday's tour around the city for the highlights gave us a great overview of what was available. However, our tour director went one step beyond and offered to show us how to use the Metro with an afternoon trip to district 18 in Montmartre. Perfect intro to the city. Montparnasse is a great location, as it offers 3 metro stations that services all major areas, great neighbour hoods to stroll through, the art and produce markets. The Montparnasse tower offers a much better view of the city than the Eiffel tower AND you can get pics of the Eiffel.

A Dream Trip for Mother and Daughter

My daughter (age 23) and I enjoyed nine nights in Paris in May 2012. It was my third trip to Paris and her first. Within a few days, she loved it as much as I do. Many thanks to Go Ahead Tours for our hotel selection, wonderful guide Patrick Long, restaurant suggestions, metro demonstration, and guided tours to Montmartre, Montparnesse, Giverny, and city bus tour, plus our fabulous boat ride on the Seine River. It was very special to be in France for the presidential elections and to celebrate with French people V-E Day (May 8) as we saw the outgoing President and newly-elected President lay a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier at the Arc de Triomphe. It meant a lot to me to honor all veterans, including my father and grandfather who fought in France, on this special day on our vacation.

Paris City Stay

Everything was great including the hotel and tour director. Especially helpful were the orientation to public transportation and the bus and walking tours free of charge the first day. The tour director not only provided us with a list of metro stations and specific train lines to take to major attractions within the city, but also took the group into a station and showed us how to buy our tickets. The options of adding excursions or getting around the city according to our own schedules made the vacation ideal for both first-time and seasoned travelers
