Art and Culture Trip

Our group's trip to Portugal and Spain was an exciting opportunity to taste and see these two wonderful countries. I took over 800 photos. The local tour guides who led us through the cathedrals, museums, and palaces were so knowledgeable, thorough, and some even entertaining. I especially enjoyed the visit to the Summer Palace in Sintra, Portugal, and the opportunity to spend free time in the Buen Retiro Park in Madrid. Our overall tour guide was very accommodating, as was our bus driver, who even stopped so a traveler could capture a much desired photo of a huge field of sunflowers as we traveled in Spain. I truly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about the people, cultural sites, and food of Portugal and Spain.

FINE TOUR

I THINK THAT WE REALLY GOT A FLAIR OF THE COUTRIES. tHE TOUR DIRECTOR WAS GREAT. i LOVED THE CITIES WE WERE EXPOSED TO ON THIS TRIP. i JUST DID A BALTIC CRUISE WHICH WAS THE WAY TO GO,BUT THE FLAIR OR CULTURAL EXPERIENCE WAS NOT THE SAme.

A great trip! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun. The local guides were excellent, gave us so much information about the places we visited and art we saw. The hotels were very nice and centrally located. I especially liked the pace with enough time in each city to see the sights, shop and experience the culture. I would take another Go Ahead trip!

Spain and Portugal are beautiful!

I knew it was going to be hot and I am not a hot weather person but I had a fantastic time. Everything was wonderful – what I got to see, learn, experience and participate was a trip of a lifetime. My husband had never traveled with me before and he had a great time too!

Great shopping and good food

Although I have never been to Lisbon prior to this trip I decided to take the chance and I was pleasantly surprised with myself for making such a decision. The people, the food and the shopping were such a wonderful experience. My Spanish was able to lend a tremendous hand and navigating through the Metro system was a breeze. I highly recommend Lisbon for a relaxing, scenic, shopping spree. Spain is like home for me with the food, culture, people and shopping. I went to a bull fight for the first time and chimed in with the crowd throughout their chants. I did the Metro system there for the first time and was also surprised how simple everything was. Quite naturally my Spanish was helpful here as well. I highly recommend LSM for all the reasons I mentioned, the Spanish language, in my opinion, is a necessity.

A dream come true trip!

Our Spain /Portugal trip was fabulous. The hotels were clean, centrally located and very memorable. Our guide was one of the best guides we have had in years.This is our 4th trip with GoAhead tours and we will continue to use them as all the trips have been well planned with very knowledgable guides. Our group became family and believe it or not alot of us still keep in touch. The bus rides from place to place were comfotable and give you a chance to see the beautiful countryside. misrepresented trip

I was very disappointed in this trip. It was rated to be a comfortable trip with a 2 rating as to difficulty. You had to be a mountain lion to even climb into the bus. The cobblestone streets were up and downhill everythere. We stopped at a rest stop to use the restrooms just before they closed and the floor had been mopped and was wet. I fell and broke my wrist. I also fell at a cathedral and broke my kneecap, which I am still disabled by. There was no one in sight to help me. In short, it was tho' the trip director did everything she could do to help me. I no longer trust your description of a trip to travel with you again!

Go with Go Ahead

Our main destinations were Lisbon, Portugal, and Seville, and Madrid in Spain. We went in November. The weather was perfect for touring, and nothing was crowded. We travelled through out cities and places with leisure and privacy. I loved everything we saw but especially Cascais on the way to Sintra, Merida, the Castle of Lisbon, all of Seville, of course, Segovia (WOW) and many delicious tappas meals eaten outdoors in Madrid. Our guide, Louis, was wonderful, one of the very best guides I've ever had (and I've been on 12 European tours.) Everything was perfect!!
