london to paris 10-8-11 to 10-16-11
gino is a fantastic tour director. london & paris are glorious cities. optionals: london city tour, bath & sronehenge & paris dinner & seine cruise---all superb. My problem is your hotel choices. hotel in london---very nice--great, helpful staff---but very far from london itself. hotel choice in paris---AWFUL!! the hotel smelled of disinfectant--had no charm & the staff was indifferent & rude. the rooms were very tiny & hot. to sleep --the window had to be opened. i was in the back of the hotel. in the alley below---about 15 men were standing around. they were there from 6 AM to 3-4 AM every day their constant chatter and yelling made sleeping almost impossible. i received several phone calls from a friend---and only got one phone message. the only way i got the message is that i went to the front desk to ask them to get me an outside line. the clerk opened a drawer & threw the message at me. this was at 5 PM. the call had been made in the AM and sat in the drawer all day. instead of a call from a friend--what is there had been an emergency? hotel had no charm the neighbr hood had no ambience. i feel i should get a refund because the hotel was so horrible. aside from the very disappointing hotel in paris---the trip was great. change the paris hotel--and it will be perfect
London & Paris Tour
It was my first time in London and Paris. The trip was very comforting and the people I met were great. TheTour Director was great and funny and the other travelers who had been to London and Paris before extended themselves to tell us about events and sights to see. It was a wonderful experience for me. I would do it again in a heart beat. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Want to go back!
The day we arrived in London, our tour guide took us for a walking tour to get aquainted with the area. He was marvelous, chock full of information on buildings, architecture and history. On our arrival in Paris, he led our group on another walking tour, but this time, also taking us on the metro so we'd know how to get around. It was a blast and so helpful. We saw SO MUCH in 7 days, it was unforgettable. A+++++.
Wonderful trip
This was my first group tour and it exceeded my expections. Friendly fellow travelers, well-informed and compent tour director and guides all contributed towards a pleasant and enjoyable trip. I'll go again with Go Ahead Tours - perhaps longer than 9 days. Thank you!
London and Paris City Tour
Great trip and plenty of sights to see. Especially enjoyed Stonhenge and Bath optional trip and also Windsor Castle in London. In Paris, the highlight was Versies and the Dinner and trip on the river. A side trip to include the Eifel Tour would certainly have been accepted by me and my husband
LONDON AND PARIS CITY TOUR
A great trip enhanced by our tour director, Jim The optional trips in both London and Paris were right on.
Different
The tour was quite good but I was not expecting so much "on your own" time and self guiding. I was frustrated at times not knowing where to go or how to get there. It wasn't the tour guides fault, I just wasn't aware that we'd be on our own so much. I'll look into that situation better next time
memorable vacation
Excellent trip if you're into sightseeing. Lots of places to see and things to do.Only drawback is the very small room accomodations
A great tour
My daughter and I booked your tour of London and Paris and we had such a great time, Our tour guide was so well informed about both cities and her help finding certain sights and shops was amazing. Thank you for putting together such a great city tour.
Less than what I expected
We arrived in London and had to wait for a shuttle to get to the hotel, due to confusion we had to walk up and downstairs at the airport as they couldn't locate the shuttle. Our coordinator was very nice. However, she was not a tour guide. Our first day trips in each country were honored all others that we asked for were cancelled. When we left our fights were not confirmed and had been cancelled. British Airlines moved us to other airlines where we were treated as second class because we had not purchased our original tickets through them. We left the hotel at 7:00 am and did not arrive in Houston till 11:36. I think I would book on my own next time. We ended up touring London and Paris for the most part on our own.
