enjoyable trip

All my tours were very informative and enjoyable.

London & Paris City Tour

The tour was very disappointing. We have been on other Go Ahead Tours & they were fabulous. Although our tour director wwas extremely nice & personable& helpful, he wasn't as knowledgable as some of the other directors. London was a big disappointment as the Winsor Castle & Westminster Abbey tours were both cancelled. Who goes to London without seeing those places. Both hotels, in London & Paris, were way too far from the heart of the city & everything & everywhere that we wanted to see. Paris was extremely bad to say the least. The hotel was in the part of town that only could be classified as the ghetto. The neighborhood was very scary to walk around & there were no good restaurants anywhere within walking distance. We paid a great deal for this trip & surely expected way better accomodations in a safe athmosphere. Don't really know if I can trust Go Ahead with another trip with them. Others in our group voiced the same disappointment. May have to try another tour company.

Disappointed

This will be my last tour with GoAhead. Poor choice of hotel in Paris. Too far from city center and cheap. No internet or other amenities. Didn't even have an iron at the desk to borrow. Staff at GoAhead was not particularly helpful when I contacted them before the trip. It looks like GoAhead is cutting corners to save money and it shows in the quality of accommodations and in little things like the buses used for transfer and for city tours. We paid extra money to the airline so we could sit together on the plane. GoAhead had booked our reservation and seated us in different rows. I've learned to expect little things like sitting with my traveling companion on a trans-Atlantic flight. I'm sure Go Ahead got a really cheap rate by splitting up travel partners or seating people in the last row of the plane. There are other travel companies that offer much better value and who go the extra mile to provide customer service.

Paris and London great trip

We really enjoyed this tour. It gave us the opportunity to do a few side trips and yet have time to explore on our own. The time in Paris was to short so we extended for two days and were glad we did. We wished that there would have been more time to explore the town of Bath. We had done a 18 day Italian tour as a result, we felt there was more of interest to us than the Roman Baths which took up all the time there. The hotel in London, rooms, location, staff and location were excellent. The hotel in Paris left a lot to be desired. The rooms were excellent, however, they were located over a bar and we had trouble sleeping. The location to the city was to far, the immediate area was pleasant, however, the area to get to the subway was filthy. The staff was young, while pleasant did not have a handle on travel information (i.e. where to get museum passes, good locale restaurants in the area etc.) Raf, our travel guide was excellent as where each of the guides we had on side trips. This really made the trip so wonderful. One issue we had was that our airplane seats were not together. On our last Go Ahead Tour this was not an issue. We felt it was something that should have been done by your booking department. While the actual tour pass was moderate to leisurely, we made it into a very active trip usually walking at least five mile a day getting to all we wanted to see.

London and Paris

Unfortunately this was not the best trip I ever had. We were placed in a hotel that was a great distance from the areas of interest in London. It took about 45 minutes by bus or cab to reach our destinations. That changed the plans for each day. We could have used assistance with moving about the area. For some people the rigors of the underground were just too much. In Paris some people couldn't figure out how to use the metro and spent many hours trying to get from point A to point B. That was a waste of vacation time. There has got to be a better way to aid travelers.

Everything We Wanted to Do and then some!

The trip to London and Paris was all we had hoped it would be and then some! We had such a great time seeing London (loved the London Eye!) and Stonehenge ( unusually mesmerizing). We took "the Tube" to the theater district and saw a play (would have done that again if we had time). The trip to Windsor Castle and the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace were wonderful experiences! Taking the Chunnel to Paris was exciting. Paris - was astounding! The Louve, the Eiffel Tower (especially from the boat ride at night) was so beautiful; Monet's home, Mount M>>>>(not sure how to spell it) way up over the City - great views! The hotels were perfect. We would go again - I LOVED Paris! My husband, if he had to choose, would choose London, but both were wonderful. We had a great tiime. Our tour guide was the best - very patient with all of the questions and very well-versed in the areas and the local customs.

Just a great trip

This trip was for our 50th wedding anniversary which is in July. Everything was great. It was particularly helpful to have a tour director available to help guide is around, help with the Metros in both cities, show us places we would not have seen without him. All the information on the WEB site was exactly what we experienced. All costs were up front and correct.

Great way to see lots of places

This was a great trip. You could pretty much personalize it however you wanted. If you wanted to stay with the group and do all the tours you could but if you never wanted to see anyone in your group you could do everything on your own. We did a combination and it worked out great. We did a few preplanned tours and did a lot on our own. We werent afraid to go out on our own so we were able to see a lot more than just the group activities. Are looking forward to doing another trip In the next year. I will say it was a mostly retired group (we are in our 40s) but that wasn't an issue at all. Couldn't have asked for a better group or tour guide.
