One of the best

This tour exceeded our expectations. The wildlife drives were awesome, the accomodations outstanding, our tour guide driver David was the best. David made sure we were comfotable and were satisfied with the photo ops before moving on. He worked very hard to make sure we were able to see all the species available. The van was comfortable and always clean and well stocked with drinking water. The meal selections were very good and also sesitive to people in our group who were vegetarian and gluten averse.

Africa

This was a wonderful trip. it was great seeing how the people live and observing all the animals. I felt that Tanzania was much better than Kenya. There was so much more variety of animals and the accomadations were much better. I would recomend my friends taking this trip. I would however tell them to pack warm clothes and be prepared for alot of dust. It is all worth it and it is a trip I will never forget!!

Trip of a Lifetime

I expected this trip to be wonderful and it greatly exceeded my expectations. To see the animals in the wild the way they were meant to be was totally awesome. There is something majestic about seeing the lions appear in the grass or to see the elephants frolicking in the water. I expected to get sick and I did not. The food was great. The lodging was clean, comfortable and one with nature. It will be hard to ever take a better trip than this one.

Sammy- my tour guide was outstanding- he was very knowledgeable and passionate about all we saw on the tour. Kenya Wildlife Safari far exceeded my expecations!

The Kenya Wildlife Safari - May 4 - 16, 2012 far exceeded my expectations. The accommodations, meals, safari vehicles, sights, places we visited and animals we saw were AWESOME! ! ! ! ! My Driver/Guide - Fred Ngoli (Vintage Africa) - was awesome and made all the difference. It was because of Fred that it was an excellent vacation and learning experience and one that I will do again and recommend to my friends and family. In fact, I started saving up so I can go again in 2014. Fred was very knowledgeable about everything we saw, did and experienced as well as sharing Kenyan history and valuable information about the habits and habitats of the animals, birds and places we visited. Fred was very accommodating to our many requests to "stop for a Picture here". Even though our group with Fred experienced 3 vehicle BREAK-DOWNS, Fred made sure our group never missed a beat and we still were able to see and do everything on our agenda, maybe just a little later in the day or the next day. I consider myself very lucky to be in Fred's tour group and hope that when i do this tour again, i will have Fred Ngoli as my Driver/Guide. Carol S. Hutchison

Very interesting trip

No doubt that the scenery, the wildlife is breath taking. The people in both countries, Kenya and Tanzania, are extremely friendly. The service in most of the lodges was great, few little exceptions, but overall wonderful. The food surprisingly was fantastic, with great service. Most of the accommodations were very good, especially the Serengeti Sopa lodge it is a 5 star hotel; the exception was the last one in Tanzania, the Tarangire lodge, it reminded me of motel 6. Overall, it was a memorable experience. The first recommendation I have is to contract with a different tour company in Kenya. They use mini vans that are very uncomfortable, old, as if they purchased these vans from a junk yard. They are noisy, shaking, and rattling the entire way, and the engine smelled as if it was on fire, like burning oil. The seating was horrible we were packed with no leg room what so ever. We had two vans for the entire group, 6 people in each van. The vans have only front wheel drive, not really for the type of terrain we traveled. We almost flipped on the side in one location and the engine sounded like it was going to blow up. Many other companies use 4x4 jeep style vehicles with comfortable seating. On a daily basis we traveled in these vans from 6 - 12 hours in no roads conditions, bouncing the entire way. Doing that for one or two days is not an issue, but when you do it for 16 days, it is an issue. We got stuck in the mud on the way to one of the camps. We had to walk all the way to the camp in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of wild terrain. Few days later the engine blew up on he way to a safari, we were standing by the road side, at the mercy of other tour companies to give us a lift. Some of the vehicles occupied by other tourist were very gracious and took us in small groups, so we split into various vehicles. The half of our tour companions that occupied the other van had many problems with their van, from the axle, transmission to engine, you name it. In several occasions we had to pull somewhere and wait for them. This was very frustrating and a waste of several hours. Both vans had to be replaced during our trip as they all broke in pieces. The replacement vans were even worse than the original ones, the inside was all rusted, looked as if they were on their last voyage. The company in Tanzania, provided us with 4x4 Land Cruisers, equipped with large tires, heavy duty springs, heavy bumper with towing capabilities, very comfortable seating; vehicles appropriate for the type of terrain. We had to cross a river, climbed muddy hills, and very difficult roads. The trips were long, and very bouncy, but in contrast to Kenya we had the proper transport. One more important recommendation, the first day rather than going to the giraffe manor, I strongly suggest visiting the museum. I am sure many zoos have the giraffe feeding, here in Phoenix we have three locations were you can feed the giraffes, and frankly it is better to see them in their own wild environment. People in the tour group had no idea about the culture, the history, the current events, I think that visitation to the museum will answer all these questions. My wife and I had an extra day and had a chance to visit the museum, it is very fascinating, very educational and extremely well done. The difference between this trip in comparison to other trips, were you have a driver and a director, here you have only the driver. So, you have no information along the way, no one to tell you about the country, the culture, the only time we can get any information was when we stopped somewhere, or talking to local residents.

Super wonderful trip!

Absolutely wonderful guides! Knowledgeable, accommodating and fun! Each place we stayed offered unique and wonderful opportunities to experience Africa . All were very comfortable with superior cuisine and customer care. I was prepared to live out of a suitcase and change camps/hotels frequently, and found the trip exciting rather than challenging. As someone with a bad back I particularly appreciated the wonderful beds and use of my inflatable pillow on the safari van seat - it really did the trick on bumpy roads! Even the most amateur of photographers, bird watchers and animal spotters had a richly satisfying bunch of experiences. Friendly people, abundant wildlife, terrific terrain, superior accommodations and guides -who could ask for more!!

A thrilling trip!

This trip was much better than anticipated in every way. Every minute was a new and exciting adventure....so many animals, informative guides, beautiful landscapes, first class accomendations and gourmet food. One must expect dusty and very bumpy rides in order to see the incredible sightings of so many animals in their natural habitat.
