Great trip

The trip was wonderful. We saw so many animals and the culture is very different from home. We went in August and there were very few mosquitos and the temperature was in the high seventies by afternoon.You definitely need to wear layers .. It may be 50F when you start the day. You have to be prepared to travel long times on very bumpy roads and have snacks along with you. It's 6 - 9 hours between breakfast and lunch. It was definitely worth the time and money. The Tanzania add on is special too.

Awesome

What an awesome trip, exhausting, dirty at times over dusty, bouncing rutted roads, but with such rewards at the end. Wildlife that is unpredictable, powerful, and beautiful. A trip that is made all the more enjoyable and pleasant by the friendliness, warmt and desire to please of the people of Kenya and Tanzania. They are vibrant, industrious and a joy to be with. Do not attempt this on your own without a guide.

Kenya Wildlife Safari

My husband and I were both "wowed" by this trip. We seen more wildlife than what we expected. We had a great guide who was very knowledgeable. We also did the Tanzania tour. It was wonderful, however, we felt like if the trip had been reversed we would have less road trip time. If you are thinking of doing this trip, you need to be an "early start" traveler. Make yourself available and on time for departures.

All We'd Hoped For

We'd hoped to see as many different animals in the wild as possible, and this trip delivered. We saw the Big 5 and then some...even had a lion "mark" our vehicle! The wildebeest migration was on, and though we saw plenty, the Mara crossing did not happen for us...guess the animals did not get the "Gnus". Accommodations ran the gamut from tented lodges to 5-star hotel. The service and food at each was above average to excellent. There was a lot of rough driving and dust, but it is Africa, not a theme park. The pace was pretty quick, and needed to be to go all the places we went. Overall, a great experience we are happy to have had.

A Beautiful Experience

This tour was more than expected, and expectations were extremely high. Wild animals were cooperative, accommodations were varied and representative of the full range of safari experience, and the staff was attentive to every detail. Vintage Africa and Grometi should be congratulated on their selection of personnel. Kennedy in Kenya and Adam in Tanzania were exceptional guides with a fullness of knowledge to complement their wonderful personalities. A beautiful experience!

I absolutely loved my trip. I didn't care for the accommodations of the last lodge. Ngorongoro. My room and bath were very old. The grout would get on my things in the bath. And the spraying the room with chemicals when you get there was awful. The water at meals disappeared in Tanzania. I was unprepared after extremely long journeys to the meal destinations. These complaints are very few for such a big trip. The trip was well planned for seeing every thing possible in a day. All my fantasies were lived.

Would do again

Both Kenya and Tanzania segments were definitely worth the price and than some. If there is anything that caused a problem it was the communication in Kenya regarding where and when we would be going or leaving a location. the drivers and guides did a marvelous job and were extremely knowledgeable of the terrain, plant life, animal life and the residents. Our trip even started out in an unexpected way by having Secretary of State Hilary Clinton staying at the same hotel the first day.

Fantastic, but be ready for......

Fantastic, friendly, good food, nice to great accomidations. Not to be believed viewing of animals and birds, with plenty of interaction with local people and the environment. Also exhausting, incredably dusty, terrible roads and not for faint of heart R/T driving practices and public bathrooms. For adventure and wildlife loving. Not a lot of time to be off by yourself. Not for high maintanance comfort seeking types. Well worth the price for the right people. Give yourself a couple of days at end to rest and cleanup, and do some stuff on your own localy.

Out of Africa!!

This trip was a wonderful experience! We saw many different kinds of wildlife in their own environment. My husband & I said it was a very amazing & educational experience & enjoyed the campsites very much. The lions feasting on their captured topi & the elephants on the plains were very exciting to watch & take videos of. We enjoyed capturing their freedom to roam & enjoy their natural surroundings without fear of being hunted. We have enjoyed all of our trips with "GoAhead Tours" & will certainly enjoy more in the future! Our guides were well informed & shared their knowledge with us about all of the animals.

Trip was better than I had expected. Accommodations were superb; and exactly as represented in the brochure. The hospitality of the people was tremendous, gracious, friendly, helpful and open. Food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Game drives were the best. Birds and animals up close; so beautiful in their natural habitat. I loved this trip.
