Berlin to Bavaria
We had a wonderful trip. The experience was enhanced by our tour guide Freideman. He was knowledgeable and he related personal experiences which made things seem more real and relevant than they might have otherwise. We saw just about everything we had talked about seeing if we ever made a trip to Germany. The only black mark on the whole trip was Charles de Gualle airport. That place is a nightmare and when we take future trips we will try to arrange a route that does not include that airport. Overall an excellent trip. Will remember it for the rest of my life.
A Travel Through a Pivotal Time in HIstory
This trip pulls the whole understanding of Germany's part in Nazi Germany history through to today's new image! It was a wonderful mix of history, architecture and culture! A great trip for those people with any German hertage and love of history!
Good Trip With Plenty of Room for Improvement
Great sights paired with poorly situated, third rate hotels. Hotels often lacked twenty-first century conveniences --- flat screen TV's, internet, W-Fi, international TV stations. The structure of the basic tour was fine, and the individual guides were outstanding. The tour group was an unusually large size of 39! This made it very difficult for the tour director to be organized. We have been on 23 trips to Europe and never on one of this large group size.
Berlin to Bavaria
This was our second experience with Go Ahead. Our expectations were exceeded. This was the only tour, that we could find that was all Germany from north to south. No other company came close, and it was a good value for the product delivered. The tour director can make or break the experience. Ours, Freidemann made the tour a 5 star experience. He took care of details, was personal, shared his native knowledge and was a real pro. He made sure we had the max time at places and included some places not on the agenda. I would recommend this tour with the highest degree. The only speed bump we hit, was at Degaulle airport in Paris, transfers were difficult to say the least. But, when I picked the tour, the Go Ahead rep, gave me two choices of air routes, guess I would pic different next time. That adventure, took nothing away from the tour itself. Great time and will be always remembered. Dennis Clever
Historic Germany
This was one of the most informative trips I have ever taken. The trip had a focus and all places visited supported the theme. It was a detailed education on the events og WW II and was especially meaningful to me as I am German and lived near Munich in the years leading up to the war. There was a lot of walking , so this is NOT a trip for people who have difficulty with this.
First Trip to Germany
Being first timer we saw sites that we have read and heard about. It was a very good tour. A lot of history brought to life. The food was great especially the bread. Never saw so many kinds of beer and it was good also. Don't know whether we will be back to Germany but we will not forget this tour.
Wonderful trip
Our tour guide/director Alex - was terrific. The extension to Vienna was a magical experience. This was my first trip with Go Ahead, which has become my favorite tour company. It will not be my last trip with the company.
Historic Germany
This tour provided me with what I was looking for: an overview of a good part of an important and complex country, with emphasis on history and culture.. La La, our tour director, was always on top of everything. I never felt things were anything but under control, well orgainized and well communicated to me. The tour presented some difficult choices - for me, museums versus side trips. An extra day in Berlin and Munich would have gone a long way in resolving these. All the hotels were good. All breakfasts and dinners were very good. It was very difficult to get into the shower at the Estrell Hotel because the side of the tub was so high. All local guides were good and in Berlin Kevin Kennedy was excellent for content, in depth knowledge, analysis, and clearly marked point of view.
Germany Tour
I really enjoyed this tour and seeing so much of the sites of Germany. One caution I have for anyone thinking about this tour, there is a LOT of walking. It is between active and challenging for someone who has difficulty walking a lot in one day. However, walking is the only way you could see the things we got to see. Just be aware.
'Germany
All in all it was good but the days could have been about an hour shorter. And the meals could have been briefer. The guide was great. Berlin could have been an option instead of standard. It was the least enjoyable
