Something for everyone
From modern Berlin to Medieval Rothenberg there was something for everyone. "Mad" Ludwig's castle was unbelieveable. The food was great and plenty of it at every meal. A great pace. Wonderful tour!
Great tour of Germany
Wonderful trip. Only downside was I wish it were longer!
Historic Germany
I enjoyed the WWII tour, Dachau, Munich, and some of the architecture. I thought that the local guides sometimes tried to make too much out of too little. Sometimes the litany of facts and figures lost me. The Saturday and Sunday itinerary in Berlin should have been reversed so that we could have shopped in our free time. Frank Stahl was excellent. You are lucky to have him. Overall, the hotels were excellent. However, I would have chosen another in Bamberg. Europa's rooms were too small, lacked AC, and were too noisy at night if the window was open. Their staff was excellent though and so were their meals.
Nice Trip in Germany
Partner and I took this trip, in addition, to the extension to Austria which was great! I reccommend!
Germany Made Easy
Our tour director made everything fun and easy. We learned how to use public transportation and to be comfortable. Great first vacation to Europe!
Good value tour
I feel that we definitely got a lot for our money. Our tour director was a very personable gentleman. However, I think the large size of the group made it harder to keep organized at times. I have 2 recommendations for this tour in the future. First, I would include the option to upgrade your hotel. Many of the hotels we stayed in were too far away from town center. I realize that you are trying to keep costs down for the travelers. However, we have toured with other companies that allow people from the same tour to chose between 2 or 3 hotels at different price levels and locations. On this tour, our hotel in Munich was in the middle of nowhere. There was no restaurant nearby. After a day of touring, we did not want to take the subway downtown. We opted to eat dinner in the hotel - not a good experience. My second suggestion, would be to change some or all of the included dinners to better local restaurants - even if it means that you need to cut down the number of included group meals to make it affordable for the tourist. The included dinners on this trip were just adequate.
It was a wonderful tour - one of the best!
I've never had anything but an excellent tour with Go Ahead. The Germany tour was well planned and with an energetic tour director, we couldn't go wrong. The weather didn't cooperate at first, but that was the only negative. - and certainly nothing one could do about it. The hotels were delightful and the buffet breakfast was spectacular whereever we went.
Historic Germany: Berlin to Bavaria
11 major sites in 9 touring days is quite a lot. Overall = quite good, but about 2-3 days more time would have been perfect...expecially in Gorlitz, Bamberg, and Rothenburg ob der Tauber to explore in greater detail these incrediible medievel towns. Tour really needs to be 15 -16 days in length. One major dis-appointment was - no "folk-lore show" was offered, or made part of the tour....a big mistake.
Historic Germany
Good tour. Enjoyed it. I felt it was well organized.
Historic Germany
Great sights. Good choices for visiting stops. Good local guides. Good tour Director. Try to locate hotels in genter of cities or towns if possible. Try to limit # of people in a tour group to around a maximum of 20.
