Worth the physical and mental challenges
We had a wonderful time from start to finish. The experience of the Pyramids, temples along the Nile, the Valley of the Kings, the Nile cruise - all were taxing physically (2am wake up one day) but well worth the effort. Entering the tombs was unforgettable, and seeing Karnak, Luxor, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Philae was magical. Thank you, Amr Osmond and Go Ahead!
overall terrific
we had a great time on our tour of egypt and the nile. the people were amazing the sights awesome the early morning wake up calls horrific but all in all an historic trip ! amr, we salute you for your patience, caring and true love of your work ,to put up with a group of picky american tourists !!!!!!!!!!!
a must do/see trip
So much to see in Egypt that the schedule and pace was at times a little to much. But to see as much as time allowed it was very well scheduled. Our guide Amr Osman was a wealth of knowledge of both ancient and modern Egypt . The ancient sites and the country itself is something everyone should see.
The Trip of a Lifetime
Egypt and the Nile allowed us to see thousands of years of history. Our tour director and local guide was fantastic: knowledgeable, informative, and always there for us. The cruise down the Nile was relaxing. We came to be comfortable with our tourist police who were always looking out for us. We also appreciated the use of air travel to get us safely around the country. Abu Simbel was amazing. The Egyptian people were very friendly and made us feel welcome.
Met all expectations
Fantastic trip
Great tour, but too many early mornings
Great tour, but who would even think that we would be required to have 7 mornings with a wake-up call at 3:00am or earlier (one @ 1:30 am). Difficult to enjoy a good breakfast at that hour or even a great hotel.
Fascinating Glimpses
This tour provided fascinating glimpses into the old and new cultures of Egypt and Jordan from ancient monuments to ultra-modern buildings, from Beduins in the desert to hi-tec university life, The highlight for me was the Nile cruise which afforded views of ordinary people living their daily lives as has been done for centuries, but with satellite dishes on rooftops and donkey riders with cell phone in hand.
Excellent tour
Excellent tour
Both amazing and deeply disturbing
An extremely challenging trip - personally I would like to see it planned over 14 days rather than 12. Taking an 11-hour flight to Cairo and then getting up the very next day way before dawn to go to Alexandria detracts from the whole experience - you cannot appreciate if you are fatigued beyond belief. This is maybe just my personal experience. All of the antiquities, statues, temples, etc. that we saw in Egypt were absolutely magnificent - 5000 years old! - and make one feel truly humble and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Be prepared to be deeply disturbed by the appalling poverty, squalor and filth in much of the country, and for the demeaning attitude of many Egyptian men toward women. I am glad I went, and am saddened by the seemingly chronic third-world status in Egypt and the apparent lack of any effort on the part of anyone to do a thing about it.
A GREAT TRIP
EVERYTHING WAS COVERED AND THE TOUR DIRECTOR WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. IT WASN T RUSH, RUSH AND LOTS OF TIME TO SEE A LOT OF THINGS.
